Yunlin County's Taixi Green Energy Zone receives full subsidy of NT$1.82777 billion under the Forward-Looking Infrastructure Plan

The "Yunlin Offshore Island-Style Basic Industrial Zone" has been 27 years since it was designated in the 80th year of the Republic of China [1991]. In response to national green energy policy, the Yunlin County Government proposed a strategy to accelerate the effective use of land in the Taixi Industrial Zone, adjusting the planning of the "Taixi Green Energy Zone" for green energy power generation. Magistrate Li Chin-yung actively sought funding from the central government under the "Forward-Looking Infrastructure Plan - Urban and Rural Development - Development of Local Industrial Parks" subsidy program, and received strong support and recognition from the Executive Yuan and the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. It was listed as one of the "Six Major Renewable Energy Special Projects," with no need to bear the 30% self-funded portion. On April 10, 107th year of the Republic of China [2018], a budget of NT$1.82777 billion was approved as a full subsidy. With the mutual cooperation and joint promotion of the central and local governments, they work together toward achieving the goal of a "2025 Nuclear-Free Homeland."

Su Kung-chih, Director of the Construction Department, pointed out that the Taixi area will cooperate with national policy to develop toward a green energy industrial park, re-examine the types of industries to be introduced into the Taixi area, and formulate detailed plans and phased, zoned development plans based on the usage needs of private landowners and green energy operators, in order to accelerate the transformation of the Taixi area into a green energy industrial park and revitalize idle industrial land in Yunlin County.

The entire area will be developed in phases and zones. The first phase of development work was launched in January 107th year of the Republic of China [2018], with development documents expected to be submitted for review in June 107th year of the Republic of China [2018], development permission expected to be obtained by the end of 107th year of the Republic of China [2018], investment solicitation announcements and manufacturer entry expected in 108th year of the Republic of China [2019], and grid connection expected in December 109th year of the Republic of China [2020] in conjunction with the completion of the booster station. The scope of later-stage development will be based on the results of landowner willingness surveys, with implementation plans formulated and development priorities proposed. After the completion of this project's development, green energy power generation (including solar photovoltaics, wind power, biomass power generation, and energy storage) will be introduced, transforming the local investment environment, promoting balanced regional development, and aligning with national green energy development policy goals.
