Pothos is a living "air freshener", and Huaxiaozhu is especially fond of it. For plant owners with some potted plant care experience, pothos does not need to be bought at all; it can be grown entirely from cuttings. The little gardener recently picked up a pothos vine next to the garbage heap in the neighborhood, took it home and gave it a little treatment, and now it has grown into a full pot of lush green. Flower friends who are interested may want to see how I did it.

This is the pothos vine the little gardener picked up. I do not know why its owner abandoned it. I felt it was a pity, so I took it home, thinking of using cuttings to bring it back to life, grow a new pot of pothos, and also save the money of buying pothos. The next thing to do is give this pothos branch a little treatment.

1. Trick one: the "cut" matters

The first step is to trim the pothos branch into small sections as long as shown in the picture above. When using scissors, the pothos branch should be cut diagonally so that the cut is at a 45% angle. This kind of cut makes rooting and root growth faster during cuttings. This is the first little trick.

2. Trick two: "soak" before inserting

The second step is to prepare a basin of water, drop one aspirin tablet into the water, and after it dissolves, put the cut pothos branches in to soak. Soaking for 10-20 minutes is enough. If you do not have aspirin tablets at home, you can use rooting powder, and the effect is the same. Both are meant to promote rooting. This is the second little trick.

3. Trick three: "river sand" is the key to success

The third step is to insert the pothos branches into the soil. For the cutting soil, I used coconut coir soil plus river sand, and river sand has already been placed on top. River sand is a must-have soil for the little gardener's cuttings. There was a failed experience before: using nutrient soil for cuttings led to either rot or black rot. So flower friends who want to try cuttings should best use river sand. One disposable cup with a little river sand is enough. This is the third little trick.

4. Trick four: "water" must be chosen well

The fourth step: after inserting them, water the river sand thoroughly with the water used earlier for soaking the roots, then place it in a spot with scattered light and good ventilation to grow. Keep it in a moist state. Usually, whether watering or spraying to increase humidity, use water that has been left in the sun; do not directly use water straight from the tap. This is the fourth little trick. The picture shows the state after 2 weeks of cuttings.

5. Trick five: clever use of "fertilizer" to strengthen roots and protect seedlings

The fifth step: now comes the critical period for pothos cuttings. Many flower friends try cuttings, and after seedlings grow, they neglect care, and within a few days the roots rot, leaving them happy for nothing. When the pothos grows two leaves, the little gardener uses 2000-times Huadongde pothos organic nutrient solution to water it. It can strengthen roots and protect seedlings, and grow the pothos seedlings strong. This is the fifth little trick.

This is how the cut pothos seedlings look after more than a month of growth. They are growing very lushly. At this time, we can almost transplant and repot them. By now the roots of the pothos seedlings are already strong enough to stand on their own. As long as flower friends use the "5 methods" of cuttings mentioned above by the little gardener, propagating pothos from cuttings will get twice the result with half the effort.
