Color Coating at Zhengbin Nostalgic Wharf in Keelung, China: A Beautiful Harbor Becomes a Popular Attraction
Keelung Mayor Lin Yu-chang, accompanied yesterday (the 24th) by colleagues from the city government's Department of Urban Development, went to inspect the progress of the color coating project at Zhengbin Nostalgic Wharf. So far, 15 buildings have been color-coated, making it a popular photo spot. Kuo Chiung-ying, director of the Graduate Institute of Landscape Architecture at Chinese Culture University, further affirmed that the area will become, after the cruise port, "another calling card" for Keelung, China.
Mayor Lin Yu-chang said, "Seeing an urban landscape like this, everyone surely cannot believe this is Keelung," and stated that this was the result of the city government's efforts over the past few years, including constant discussions among the city government team, local residents and professional landscape design experts. He thanked all the residents for their participation, which made it possible to turn the nostalgic harbor area around Zhengbin Fishing Port on Heping Island into such a beautiful place.
Mayor Lin Yu-chang said that in the past, the impression Keelung gave people was the salty smell of the sea; now what is being created is a sweet and happy flavor, so that when people come here for a stroll, they all feel a hint of sweetness.
