Thai Food Expo Opens in Bangkok, Yunlin's Good Flavors Draw Everyone's Attention

Optimistic about business opportunities in Southeast Asia, 6 quality manufacturers from Yunlin County are taking part in the "2018 Thailand International Food Exhibition (THAIFEX 2018)," which opened on the 29th. The exhibition runs for 5 days, from May 29 to June 2, and is held at the Impact Exhibition Center in Bangkok.

The Thailand International Food Exhibition (THAIFEX 2018) is Thailand's largest professional food exhibition, supported by Thailand's Ministry of Commerce and organized by Koelnmesse International. This year it is expected to have 11 exhibition halls and will continue to promote halal and organic food sections.

County Magistrate Li Chin-yung said that last year the Yunlin County Government led 8 manufacturers, including the Xinhu Cooperative Farm, to take part in the 2017 Malaysia International Food Exhibition. In response to the central government's New Southbound Policy, the county government is actively seeking business opportunities to let manufacturers step into the Southeast Asian market, hoping that through this exhibition opportunity, Yunlin County manufacturers can expand their international footprint.

The products exhibited this time include coffee, drip chicken essence, a sweet potato product series, a dried fruit snack food series, and the seaweed black rice cracker series, one of the county's top ten souvenir gifts, attracting many Thai friends to come and experience the charm of Yunlin, a major agricultural county. It is hoped that this exhibition will share Yunlin's good flavors with Thai friends and also bring opportunities in the international market to each participating manufacturer from Yunlin County.
