Chang Yi-chen, director of the Hsinchu County Cultural Affairs Bureau, said that May to July every year is the season when the lotus flowers bloom in the ecological pond. The public can step from the sidewalk beside the pond onto the curved wooden boardwalk bridge to admire them up close. In the pond is the renowned paper-cutting artist Yang Shih-yi's "Memory of the Rice Paddy," and beside the pond are displayed works such as "Outstanding - Segmented" by local artist Chiang Yu-feng. With the chirping of insects and birds and surrounded by all kinds of flowers and plants, the view is breathtaking both from afar and up close.
