Penghu's unique melons, fruits, agricultural and livestock products promotion: gourmands taste specialty products

"2018 Penghu Unique Melons, Fruits, Agricultural and Livestock Products Promotion and Aloe Fireworks Night" was held on the evening of the 18th at the Guanyinting Recreation Park. County Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu and Speaker Liu Chen Chao-ling attended together, affirming the Farmers' Association's dedication to promoting and marketing agricultural specialty products, and hoping that local residents would jointly support locally grown agricultural products so that agriculture can continue to operate and develop sustainably.

County Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu said that Penghu's aloe, chicken-foot thorn (Bidens pilosa var. radiata), fengru (Vitex rotundifolia), Jiabao melon, water caltrop luffa, and muskmelon, under the guidance of the Farmers' Association, have not only made a name for themselves locally but are also widely renowned in Taiwan, China. In recent years, Penghu's wild chicken-foot thorn has been refined and made into capsules, becoming a highly sought-after health food. He thanked the Farmers' Association for its dedication to promoting Penghu's agricultural specialty products and hoped everyone would continue to work hard, joining with farming friends to open up a new chapter for Penghu's agriculture.

Farmers' Association General Secretary Chen Yi-zheng said that Penghu's climate and environment are unique, with much wind, little rain, high temperatures, and large day-night temperature differences. Under this environment, representative and distinctive agricultural specialty products are nurtured. He hoped that through the promotional tasting event, Penghu's finest agricultural specialty products could be introduced to consumers, allowing local residents and tourists to further understand and come into contact with Penghu's high-quality products, thereby raising product awareness.
