Grow pothos this way in summer, and its leaves will be glossy green and climb right up the wall

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Almost every home has a pothos, so why does someone else's cover the whole wall while yours never grows and keeps getting yellow leaves? Don't worry, quickly check whether you have placed it in the right spot, then give it some fertilizer, and it will immediately grow thick stems and green leaves and cover the wall so fast you won't be able to stop it!

Pothos needs to avoid light in summer

Pothos is a shade-loving plant, so in summer it is best to put it indoors in a ventilated place and not let it be exposed to direct sunlight; too strong light easily makes pothos scorched yellow and wilted

On sunburned pothos, the leaves will develop scorched yellow spots. At this point, quickly move it indoors to a cool place, trim off the sunburned leaves, and let it grow again

When you hear about trimming leaves, you may feel reluctant, since pothos already grows slowly and trimming it again will leave it so bare there is nothing to look at. Don't worry, quickly give it some fertilizer

Wipe it with beer and the leaves will be glossy green

Beer can promote the metabolism of flowers and plants. It can not only make pothos leaves green and shiny, but also make the leaves grow more and more numerous and bigger and bigger

1. Beer: water = 1:10

Beer needs to be diluted with clean water, otherwise the sugar content inside is too high, which is not good for the plant to absorb. The beer used here is beer that has already gone flat

2. Wipe the leaves with the beer water

Dip a cotton pad or sponge in a little beer water and wipe the leaves; both the front and back of the leaves should be wiped. After wiping, place it in a cool, ventilated spot

After wiping with beer water, the pothos leaves are glossy green, but do not pour it into the pot, because beer will ferment in the soil and easily burn the roots, or attract small bugs. We only wipe the leaves, and that is enough

Water pothos with soybean milk fertilizer and the leaves will be as big as a palm

Soy products spoil easily in summer. Leftover soybean milk and okara can both be fermented into fertilizer to give pothos a little extra "fuel"

1. Ferment okara into fertilizer

Either soybean milk or okara works. Add some clean water (soybean: water = 1:500), put it into a plastic bottle and tighten the lid. Open the cap every 2-3 days to release gas. It is roughly ready in 1-2 weeks

2. Dilute with water and water the plant

The fully fermented fertilizer is best diluted with a bit more clean water before watering; fertilizer: water = 1:50. As long as the fertilizer is fully fermented, watering the plant with it will not burn the roots and is not likely to breed bugs. Only fertilizer that is not fully fermented will rot and attract bugs

Give it an aspirin and the leaves will grow like crazy

Aspirin contains salicylic acid, which promotes plant growth. If you have expired aspirin at home, you can also give it to pothos to "eat", and the leaves will grow like mad!

1. Crush aspirin and mix with 100 ml of water

Crush one aspirin tablet, add 100 ml of clean water, and stir evenly

2. Spray the leaves, or pour it into the soil

Pour the aspirin water into a small spray bottle. You can spray it directly on the leaves or pour it into the soil. It can speed up the growth rate of pothos and make it climb and vine faster

You can also mix aspirin and beer together, then add clean water (tablet: beer: water = 1:20:2000). This solution is best used after fermenting for 3-5 days, for a better effect

Supplement with vitamin B12 and the roots will be strong and the leaves even more vigorous

Vitamin B12 can not only promote root growth, but also improve the plant's immunity and reduce yellow leaves and nutritional deficiencies

1. Crush a B12 tablet and mix with water (1:100)

First break the vitamin B12 into pieces, then put it in a bag and crush it with a glass bottle, add 100 times the amount of water, and stir evenly

2. Water pothos with the vitamin water, 2 times a month

Water the prepared vitamin B12 water onto the pothos, but do not do it too often. Watering with nutrient water 2 times a month is enough. In less than a year, the pothos will be able to climb up

Vitamin B12 can also be used together with beer; tablet: beer: water = 1:20:2000. It is also best used after fermenting for 3-5 days, for an even better effect

Grow pothos with aquarium water and it will climb the wall like crazy

Gardeners who keep turtles or fish at home can save the wastewater when changing the water. After letting it settle for 1-2 days, use it to water pothos. It contains a lot of nutrients and is a purely natural organic fertilizer

Some gardeners simply grow pothos directly in the fish tank. This is also a good method. This kind of hydroponic growing will not breed bugs (the fish will eat the small bugs), and it can also make pothos grow more vigorously

Gardeners, have you learned how to do it?
