East Lake Greenway enters final stage, mayor stresses user experience during inspection

After a year of construction, the East Lake Greenway, which has drawn much public attention, is about to be completed and opened. On the 14th, Mayor Wan Yong and his delegation made a special inspection tour of the East Lake Scenic Area to check, supervise and comprehensively coordinate the final construction and operation management of the East Lake Greenway. Wan Yong said, "The last leg of a journey marks the halfway point," meaning that the closer a task is to success, the more difficult it becomes, and the more carefully it must be handled. He stressed user experience and called for the East Lake Greenway to be handed over to the public in perfect condition.

At present, asphalt paving on the main line of the East Lake Greenway has been fully completed. Power, communications, street lighting, water supply and other pipeline facilities along the entire route have been completed. The main structures, exterior decoration, toilets and interior decoration of public areas of the 24 newly built and renovated service stations have all been completed. Of the 25 smart greenway supporting subsystems, 82% of the overall progress has been completed, and they are scheduled to go online for trial operation on the 25th.

Wan Yong inspected on site the Meirentui Station and Huxin Island along the East Lake Greenway, walked along the greenway to Huguang Pavilion, and learned about the final construction work, preparations for operation management and surrounding ecological protection. Seeing the communications station base towers standing near the greenway, he instructed relevant officials to strive to ensure that every detail gives visitors a beautiful experience and enjoyment, and in particular, for the transformer boxes and communications station base towers along the greenway, to artistically beautify and design them visually while retaining their functions. While inspecting the public restroom facilities at Luoyan Station, he noticed that part of the stone wall at the entrance had sharp edges and reminded the construction workers to pay attention to protecting visitors' safety at all times, to polish these sharp edges to avoid scratching children.

Wan Yong said that the full efforts of the municipal Party committee and municipal government to advance the construction of the East Lake Greenway had received enthusiastic support from the general public. With the East Lake Greenway about to be completed and opened, efforts should be made to achieve the "four ensures and four complete successes" requirements: strive for perfection to ensure the complete completion of the construction project; overcome difficulties to ensure the complete success of land acquisition and demolition and environmental improvement; put people first to ensure the complete success of operation management, stress user experience, and achieve convenient and safe transportation, high-quality living services, good public security order and strong emergency support; and coordinate and cooperate to ensure the complete and smooth opening of the East Lake Greenway.
