Establish a geographic information database for ancient and notable trees
Recently, the Hukou County Forestry Bureau of Jiangxi Province used the forest land "one map" as a carrier and, relying on the forestry technical survey team, established a geographic information management system for ancient and notable trees. The system records in detail identity information for ancient and notable trees, including tree name, tree age, latitude and longitude coordinates, protection level, management and protection responsibility unit and responsible person, and measures requiring protection and management in the near future, achieving dynamic monitoring and scientific management and protection of ancient and notable trees.
At present, Hukou County has entered information on a total of 130 ancient and notable trees into the database. Among them are 28 first-class ancient and notable trees, 27 second-class ancient and notable trees, and 75 third-class ancient and notable trees, distributed across 14 townships and farms throughout the county.
