Yangzhou "Bonsai Supermarket" opens with all bonsai clearly priced
Yangzhou bonsai has a long history, with its own distinct shaping and style, and is hailed as "three-dimensional painting, silent poetry." It has won numerous awards at home and abroad, but has long been difficult to bring into ordinary people's homes. A few days ago, the Yangzhou-style bonsai Huaduhui "Bonsai Supermarket" opened, with all bonsai clearly priced, thus beginning its trial run in the market. It is reported that among the first batch of more than 200 bonsai, the most expensive is a five-needle pine bonsai cultivated for 60 years, priced at 560,000 yuan, while the cheapest is only 280 yuan.
"Bonsai Supermarket" opens
All bonsai are clearly priced
The Yangzhou-style bonsai Huaduhui "Bonsai Supermarket" is located in Hall 2 of Huaduhui, covering an area of about 2,400 sq m, divided into two parts: an indoor hall and an outdoor hall. The outdoor hall focuses on the display and sale of physical bonsai, and is both a bonsai display area and a bonsai stock storage area. The reporter saw that the outdoor hall is styled as a bonsai-style garden, with a strong flavor of landscape gardening. The indoor hall is divided into two parts: a promotion area and a premium area, focusing on bonsai auctions, bonsai sales and DIY experiences. The overall style of the hall is classical garden style, with various Yangzhou garden elements such as wind pavilions, long corridors and ornamental windows.
Jin Chuan, director of the Slender West Lake Scenic Area Management Office, introduced that although it is a "Bonsai Supermarket" for Yangzhou-style bonsai, the bonsai inside include both Yangzhou-style bonsai and bonsai of other schools. "The bonsai masters at the Slender West Lake Bonsai Museum can both make Yangzhou-style bonsai and are skilled in bonsai of other schools. The bonsai sold here are all meticulously made by Yangzhou-style bonsai masters."
All bonsai in the "Bonsai Supermarket" have a price tag, and the price of the bonsai is written on each tag. The reporter saw that a winter red fruit bonsai priced at 4,800 yuan had already been reserved.
Jin Chuan said that the "Bonsai Supermarket" is the direct sales center for Slender West Lake Yangzhou-style bonsai, and all bonsai entering the supermarket for sale are sold with marked prices.
The most expensive is priced at 560,000 yuan
It is a five-needle pine cultivated for 60 years
The bonsai sold on site include tree-stump bonsai, water-and-land bonsai, water-and-stone bonsai, fruit-bearing bonsai, flower bonsai and more. Among them, the highest-priced is a five-needle pine bonsai. Bonsai production master Meng Guangling introduced that this bonsai is a black pine grafted with multi-bud five-needle pine, with a tree age of 80 years, while its production and cultivation have gone through 60 years. "In terms of form, this bonsai is in a posture of folding hands to welcome guests; the roots, trunk, crown, overall structure and maintenance level of the bonsai are all very good. These are all reference factors for the bonsai's pricing."
Another typical boxwood bonsai with "no branch straight for an inch, three bends in an inch" is priced at 150,000 yuan. Meng Guangling said that this bonsai is also several decades old.
"Bonsai maintenance requires skill and effort." Meng Guangling introduced that, for example, boxwood bonsai must be pruned twice a year and also clipped and wired. "A top-quality bonsai requires at least two generations to cultivate, and some even require 3-4 generations of inherited cultivation before they become mature and accomplished."
The reporter saw that among the first batch of more than 200 bonsai, besides those with high prices, there are also many with low prices, with the lowest price at 280 yuan. "These lower-priced bonsai are generally small bonsai."
There is also "after-sales service"
Bonsai masters can provide door-to-door maintenance
Bonsai maintenance requires deep skills, and ordinary citizens do not have such skills. How should the bonsai they buy be maintained? Jin Chuan said that some fine bonsai require more than ten years or even decades of cultivation, so they have also arranged "bonsai nannies" to provide "after-sales service." "Bonsai masters can provide door-to-door service to maintain the bonsai."
At the same time, the "Bonsai Supermarket" also provides "private customization" bonsai services. "Simply put, bonsai masters can customize personalized bonsai according to the layout of citizens' private courtyards."
Jin Chuan said that in the future, the "Bonsai Supermarket" will also provide diversified bonsai, such as small desktop bonsai. "After citizens buy them, they can place them directly on a desk or coffee table." At the same time, it strives to provide citizens with some bonsai that are relatively simple to maintain. "For this kind of bonsai, after buying it and taking it home, usually a little pruning is enough."
