Provincial-level forest cities achieve full coverage across all counties
According to a report by Fuzhou News Network, yesterday a reporter learned from the Fuzhou Municipal Forestry Bureau that the work of Minqing, Luoyuan, Fuqing and Lianjiang counties (cities) in creating "provincial-level forest cities (county seats)" recently passed assessment and acceptance by an expert panel. Among them, Fuqing City was awarded the title of "provincial-level forest city" by the Provincial Greening Committee and the Provincial Forestry Department, while Minqing, Luoyuan and Lianjiang were awarded the title of "provincial-level forest county seats." At this point, all counties (cities) under Fuzhou's jurisdiction are provincial-level forest cities (county seats).
From May 10 to 12, the expert assessment panel for "provincial-level forest cities (county seats)" carried out assessment and acceptance for Minqing County, Luoyuan County, Fuqing City and Lianjiang County using six methods: listening to reports, reviewing materials, questionnaire surveys, online surveys, on-site inspections and overall observation. After assessment, all indicators for the above four places had been met.
It is understood that Minqing County has a forest coverage rate of 66.41% and a per capita park green space area of 13.7 sq m; Luoyuan County has a forest coverage rate of 58.25% and a per capita park green space area of 14.51 sq m; Fuqing City has a forest coverage rate of 41.92% and a per capita park green space area of 21.01 sq m; Lianjiang County has a forest coverage rate of 52.3%, and its county seat has a green space area of 708.55 hectares.
The above four counties and cities passing the expert panel's acceptance has laid a good foundation for Fuzhou's efforts to create a national forest city. This year, both Fuzhou and Quanzhou are actively working to create national forest cities. At present, the province already has 4 "national forest cities," including Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Longyan and Sanming.
