600 standardized demonstration bases for the forest and fruit industry will be built
To further accelerate the supply-side structural reform of forest and fruit products and advance the transformation and upgrading of the forest and fruit industry, Gansu Province plans to build 600 new standardized demonstration bases for the forest and fruit industry, including 100 at the provincial level, 200 at the municipal level and 300 at the county level, so as to speed up the province's forest and fruit industry's rapid shift from location and resource advantages to economic advantages.
Following the approach of "regionalized layout, standardized production and industrialized development," Gansu Province will strengthen the construction of standardized production bases for forest and fruit products in advantageous regions during the construction process and give play to the demonstration effect and radiating and driving role of the standardized demonstration bases. From this year to 2020, the province plans to build 1 modern forestry science and technology demonstration park and 60 seedling breeding bases for characteristic and advantageous forest and fruit tree species such as apple, Sichuan pepper, walnut, grape, goji berry, jujube, peach, pear, olive and cherry, as well as for ecological and economic forest species such as oil peony and yellowhorn. In addition, the province will build 2.6 million mu of new standardized production bases, including 300,000 mu of demonstration bases and 2.3 million mu of production bases.
In specific work, the province will carry out the construction of improved-variety seedling breeding bases, accelerate the introduction and selection of fine varieties and the selection and purification of local varieties, and raise the scientific and technological content of seedling production. By 2020, each impoverished county and district will build at least 1 improved-variety seedling breeding base with operating entities such as state-owned forest farms, leading enterprises, family forest farms and large forest and fruit growers. At the same time, it will carry out the construction of a standardized quality system. By 2020, the quality standard system for Gansu Province's main forest and fruit tree species and ecological and economic forest tree species will be fully established, and a provincial- and municipal-level forest and fruit product quality monitoring system will be initially established.
