Provincial Conference on Ecological and Environmental Protection Held
The Hunan Provincial Conference on Ecological and Environmental Protection was recently held in Changsha. Du Jiahao, Secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress, stressed at the conference that it is necessary to deeply study and firmly apply Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, further mobilize all forces across the province, go all out to fight the tough battle of pollution prevention and control, and strive to open up a new situation in Hunan's ecological civilization construction in the new era. Xu Dazhe, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor, attended and delivered a speech. Li Weiwei, Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended.
Du Jiahao stressed that it is necessary to unswervingly follow the path of ecological priority and green development, accelerate the formation of green development methods and lifestyles, comprehensively deepen the reform of the ecological civilization system, coordinate and jointly fight the "three tough battles", lead quality reform, efficiency reform, and momentum reform with the new development concept, and promote the realization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature and the coordinated progress of development and environmental protection, so that a good ecological environment becomes a supporting point for high-quality economic development, a growth point for the lives of the people of Sanxiang, and a driving point for showing the image of beautiful Hunan. Party committees and governments at all levels across the province should, in accordance with the requirements of "shared responsibility between the Party and the government, dual responsibility for one post, joint management, and accountability for dereliction of duty", place the tough battle of pollution prevention and control in a prominent position and firmly shoulder the major responsibility for ecological and environmental protection.
Xu Dazhe stressed that it is necessary to continuously improve ideological understanding, strengthen political responsibility, dare to face difficulties head-on, ensure the implementation of responsibilities, govern according to law and regulations, truly combine ecological civilization construction with transformation and upgrading, accelerate the formation of green development methods, rely on green mountains and clear waters to cultivate new economic growth points, solve the bottleneck problems restricting long-term development and the prominent environmental problems strongly reflected by the masses, increase the effective supply of high-quality ecological products, and strive to follow the path of ecological priority and green development with Hunan characteristics.
