Annual total output value of the nursery stock industry exceeds 5 billion yuan

According to statistics, as of May 2018, the construction area of the nursery stock industry base in Yiliang County had reached 160,000 mu, with more than 160 native tree species successfully cultivated. Nursery stock bases for native tree species account for 70% of the nursery stock industry base area in Yiliang County, mainly distributed across four townships: Kuangyuan, Nanyang Subdistrict Office, Beigucheng, and Goujie.

Main tree species cultivated: Yunnan cherry (Prunus cerasoides), winter cherry (Prunus campanulata), Chinese photinia (Photinia davidsoniae), deodar cedar (Cedrus deodara), Yunnan machilus (Machilus yunnanensis), Yunnan camellia (Camellia reticulata), camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora), rib-fruited tea (Sladenia celastrifolia), yellow lotus tree (Pistacia chinensis), fragrant wood (Pistacia weinmannifolia), etc.; nursery stock industry bases for introduced and cultivated species account for 30% of the nursery stock industry base area in Yiliang County, with main introduced tree species: golden melaleuca (Melaleuca bracteata), Australian flame tree (Brachychiton acerifolius), kapok (Bombax ceiba), Washingtonia palm (Washingtonia filifera), date palm (Phoenix dactylifera), etc. There are more than 4,500 households engaged in nursery stock industry operations, including: 6 with over 1,000 mu, 16 with over 500 mu, 33 with over 300 mu, 506 with over 100 mu, and the rest are small-scale operators. The nursery stock industry employs more than 65,000 people, and in 2017 the annual total output value of nursery stock exceeded 5 billion yuan.
