Lucky bamboo just bought home: pay attention to these points when growing it in water, and its leaves will be glossy green and it will grow vigorously

Lucky bamboo has requirements for water quality. Do not use tap water directly; you can use purified water or tap water that has been left to sit. During the period when it is rooting, the water generally needs to be changed once every three or four days. After it has rooted, the water does not need to be changed as frequently. In addition, add some nutrient solution, compound fertilizer, etc. to the water. Keep the temperature at 20 to 28°C, and do not let the sunlight be too strong
1. Water quality
For plants grown in water, water quality is very important. Do not take water straight from the tap to use, as it contains too much chlorine. Tap water needs to be left standing or exposed to strong sunlight for two or three days first. You can also use purified water directly.
2. Treatment before placing it in water
First, cut off some of the leaves to reduce transpiration as much as possible, so the plant can adapt to the environment faster and the survival rate will also be higher. In addition, cut a slanted opening at its base. Doing this can increase the contact surface with the water surface.
3. Changing the water
During the period when it is rooting, the water should be changed more frequently, generally once every three or four days. To prevent rot, you can also use charcoal, etc. After about two weeks, the roots can grow out. At this time, reduce the frequency of watering. Change it about once every two weeks, because the plant prefers slightly stale water. Changing the water too often easily makes the leaves turn yellow, and in severe cases they will even wither. However, between two water changes, a small amount of water needs to be added from time to time.
4. Nutrient solution
After it has rooted, some nutrient solution or compound fertilizer needs to be used, generally once every three or four weeks. You can also add some brandy, which can help the plant's leaves become greener. However, do not use too much.
5. Temperature and light
The temperature is best within the range of 20 to 28. Do not let the light be too strong at all; partial shade is best.
