Easy-care plants that are not delicate, and do not fear the high summer heat and blazing sun

Crape myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica) is also known as zijing hua and hundred-day red. It blooms in summer and autumn, with a long flowering period. Crape myrtle likes sunlight and is drought-tolerant, and is suited to growing in fertile soil.

Petunia (Petunia hybrida) is also known as bidong qie; it likes warmth and plenty of light, grows faster in the hot summer, and as long as the soil stays fertile and there is enough water, it will soon produce beautiful flowers.

Verbena (Verbena hybrida) grows in the high heat of blazing summer, likes plenty of sunlight, and is a relatively warmth-loving flower. There are many kinds of flowers and a wide range of flower colors. Its ability to resist drought and poor soil is relatively weak, so in summer just water it a bit more and keep the soil moist.

Moss rose (Portulaca grandiflora) can bloom normally in a warm, dry environment and closes on cloudy and rainy days. It comes in many flower colors and also gives off a faint fresh scent, making it suitable for ornamental planting. Moss rose, just like its name, likes sunlight, tolerates drought, is not delicate, and is easy to grow; when caring for it in summer you do not need to worry at all about it being scorched under the blazing sun.

Milan flower (Aglaia odorata) is also known as four-season Milan, and grows in a warm, humid environment. In midsummer it blooms with fragrant yellow flower buds that are a delight to the eye. You can place it in a spot with plenty of sunlight, which will make the fragrance even richer.
