To further boost the momentum for building a strong bonsai province, raise the creative enthusiasm of the Guangxi bonsai scene, strengthen the cohesion of the Guangxi Bonsai Association, reward outstanding members, and respond to development trends, on June 16, 2018, the Guangxi Bonsai Artists Association held a large-scale membership congress at the beautifully scenic Nanning Yinlin Villa. Guo Pingsheng, deputy director of the Greening Committee Office of the Forestry Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Bao Shiqi, president of the China Bonsai Artists Association; Fan Shunli, Rui Xinhua, Wu Jicheng, Wang Zhigang, Zeng Anchang, and Xie Keying, executive vice presidents of the China Bonsai Artists Association; Wang Dingding, deputy secretary-general of the China Bonsai Artists Association; Peng Shengcai, a Chinese bonsai art master; Wei Qunjie, president of the Yunnan Bonsai and Viewing Stone Association; Zhang Gao, chairman of the Guangxi Landscape Architecture Society; Wei Min, president of the Guangxi Flower Association; Liu Qihua, deputy editor-in-chief of Flowers, Trees and Bonsai magazine; Li Jian, administrator of the Lingnan Bonsai website; and nearly 500 guests and member representatives of the Guangxi Bonsai Association attended the congress to join in the grand occasion.

This congress was the largest event hosted by the Guangxi Bonsai Association since the province-wide mobilization and full display of its resources at the bonsai exhibition marking the association's 30th anniversary in 2015, and it was also a major review of the organizational ability and appeal of the new council led by Mr. Mao Zhu as president after the leadership election. In early June, as soon as the plan for organizing the conference was announced, members from all regions enthusiastically signed up to attend, expressing their support for and endorsement of the provincial bonsai association through practical action - the number of registrations soared and quickly exceeded expectations. Due to limited reception capacity, the organizing committee had no choice but to set a registration deadline, thereby reducing the scale of the conference to a manageable range.

It is reported that when organizing this conference, the pragmatic and diligent leadership team of the Guangxi Bonsai Association fully considered the association's actual circumstances, visited grassroots groups in various regions, mobilized enthusiastic individuals to provide sponsorship and donations, and gathered small contributions into a great effort, solving most of the funding for this event. Opening up sources and reducing expenditure - what a commendable deed!

Art knows no borders, and Guangdong and Guangxi are one family! In 2017, the Guangdong and Guangxi bonsai associations signed an agreement to become friendly associations, further solidifying the foundation of their strategic cooperative relationship and injecting momentum into cooperation and exchange in Lingnan bonsai.

After more than ten years of substantial development, the Lingnan Bonsai website has long surpassed the scope of being merely the official website of the Guangdong Provincial Bonsai Association, becoming a spiritual home for bonsai enthusiasts at home and abroad as well as a well-known media outlet in the industry. The Lingnan Bonsai website has close working ties with the Guangxi Bonsai Association, sparing no effort in promoting and exchanging Bagui bonsai, attaching great importance to the dynamics of Guangxi-origin bonsai friends, netizens, and moderators as the website forum's second major group, and paying close attention to this membership congress series of activities, successively publishing related reports and presenting a panoramic view of the grand events in the Bagui bonsai scene. Tai chi, bonsai, and calligraphy and painting are all outstanding cultural heritages of the Chinese nation, encompassing many fields of knowledge including health preservation, the study of changes, philosophical thought, medical arts, and both civil and martial pursuits.

Tai chi emphasizes the combination of hardness and softness, using softness to overcome hardness, centeredness and circular movement, and balance and harmony.
