You don't need to buy potting soil - just pick some of this up by the roadside and use it as a drainage layer at the bottom of the pot, and you can grow any flower.

These days, when people buy flowers, they usually pick up a bag of potting soil along with them, just to make their plants grow better at home. Diligent gardeners even make their own potting soil at home, with common examples like fermenting various leaf mold soils, but the waiting time is rather long. Today, I want to recommend a rather hassle-free potting soil for growing flowers - no fermentation needed, just pick some up by the roadside and it's ready to use.

That is: worm soil, also known as worm castings. You can usually find it on lawns after it rains. You just need to spend a little time collecting it and then sun-dry it for 3 days, and it's ready for growing flowers. Add it directly to the flower pot and it's excellent nutrients - no fermentation needed, no bad smell, loose and fertile, and you can grow any flower with it.

If you find collecting it yourself too troublesome, you can also just buy it online, which is more convenient. When using worm castings, you can add them directly to the surface of the pot, or mix them with garden soil and use it directly for growing flowers. Of course, you can also add clean water to the worm castings and then use it to water flowers - it's also an excellent liquid fertilizer, and you don't need to worry about burning the roots.

Gardeners who are interested can give this rather hassle-free method a try.
