All you need is a space the size of a washbasin, and you do not even need a balcony: here is how to grow more potatoes than you can eat

The tools are very simple:

Steel wire mesh, garden pliers, potting soil, dry rice straw

Step one:

Cut the steel wire mesh to a size of 1 m by 40 cm, then use the garden pliers to wrap and secure the steel wire mesh onto a wooden stick:

Step two:

Once both ends of the steel wire mesh are secured, stand the wooden stick upright and shape it into a round barrel, so that you have a cylinder 30 cm in diameter and 40 cm tall, which will be our flowerpot for growing potatoes:

Step three:

Inside this steel wire mesh cylinder, line a ring of dry rice straw, then fill the middle with nutrient soil; fill the soil to about 30 cm high and then you can place the potatoes, and the potatoes must be placed right against the edge of the steel wire mesh:

The final step:

After placing the potatoes, water regularly with a watering can; when you see that the potatoes have grown new roots, be sure to adjust the position of the potatoes so the roots point outward through the steel wire mesh, then cover the surface with just a thin layer of soil; soon many stems and leaves will grow, and many newly grown small potatoes will hang on the outside of the steel wire mesh, making harvesting very convenient.
