A Zen-style illustrator draws the super-rich inner drama of lonely souls

Hua Shaonian recently discovered a Zen-style illustrator, Evan M. Cohen. His works are full of repeated shapes and elements, and behind the seemingly simple expression, there is something weighty. What do you see in these drawings?
I am ready to let go of the past and start a new life.
There may be tens of millions of me in this world.
Walk into the crowd and get along with them.
There will be low points, and even more so, peaks.
There will always be someone who appears,
You embrace each other, and your souls merge into one.
Do not let down the light within you.
I am glad you came back to reunite with me.
Close your eyes and imagine you are home.
In the end, I finally see my true self.
Before I forget, archive my memories.
The thrill of solving a problem.
Opening old memories bit by bit.
What Evan M. Cohen draws may be himself. Besides the peaceful, healing, and colorful times above, he has also been through a repressed black-and-white phase.
The following series of illustrations is titled "Noise," and the interweaving of black and white creates an intense dramatic effect.
Pressure, heavy enough to carry the Earth forward.
Beyond black and white, there is also gray space.
Me, together with this Earth, and every plant and tree in black.
Be your own worshipper.
There are so many windows, yet the scenery I see is all the same.
Give yourself a hug.
My brain is stuffed with things, yet suddenly I feel it is completely empty.
Am I no longer myself?
Sunrise and sunset are all black and white.
As clouds roll and unfold, I become more and more mottled.
Just quietly watch the world being swallowed by black and white.
Let me be quiet and have a good sleep.
