Money trees drop leaves for many reasons: if it is caused by too much light, you need to reduce the light; if it is caused by overwatering, you need to water less; if it is caused by dry air, you need to increase the air humidity; if it is caused by too low a temperature, you need to raise the temperature.
1. Reduce light
1. Cause: The money tree is very afraid of harsh sun. If it is kept in an environment with overly strong sunlight for a long time, especially in summer, the leaves are easily scorched, which makes them drop off.
2. Solution: At this point you need to place it in a shady spot or somewhere with indirect light for care, and after a period of time the leaves will quickly return to a vivid green. At the same time, in spring, autumn and winter you can let it enjoy sunlight for long periods.
2. Reduce watering
1. Cause: It is very afraid of overly moist environments. If you water it too much while growing it, water easily accumulates in the pot, and if the roots stay soaked in it, root rot occurs, which affects the transport of nutrients and ultimately makes it drop leaves.
2. Solution: If it is caused by too much watering, you need to check whether the roots have rotted. If they have, you need to promptly cut off the rotten roots, then replace half of the soil, and afterwards control the amount of watering, ideally watering once every half a month, so that the leaves can grow normally.
3. Increase air humidity
1. Cause: Although the money tree does not like overly moist places, if the air is too dry it will also cause it to drop leaves.
2. Solution: The money tree likes places with high air humidity, with 85% being the ideal humidity, so that it can meet its water needs.
4. Raise the temperature
1. Cause: It likes a slightly warm environment and is very afraid of cold. If it is kept in a low-temperature environment for a long time, especially in winter, it is prone to cold damage, and at that point it will start dropping leaves.
2. Solution: You need to raise the temperature appropriately, and in winter you also need to take certain measures to keep it warm, so that it can grow normally.
