How to deal with root rot in peace lilies? A few practical remedies
1. Soil culture
1. Reduce watering
Cause: Overwatering a peace lily easily leads to waterlogging, and if its roots are soaked in waterlogged soil for a long time, root rot is bound to occur.
Solution: Take it out of the potting soil, then cut off the rotten roots, then use water culture to let it re-root, and once the roots have grown, replant it. In addition, watering should always be moderate; do not water too much, and even more importantly, do not let water accumulate.
2. Reduce fertilizing
Cause: Many flower lovers fertilize their peace lilies frequently. Once too much fertilizer is applied, fertilizer burn occurs and causes root rot, or applying strong fertilizer frequently can also easily cause root rot.
Solution: Reduce the amount of fertilizer and do not give it fertilizer that is too highly concentrated.
2. Water culture
1. Disinfect the container
Cause: If the container has bacteria, it will cause the leaves to turn yellow, and over time root rot will occur. This is especially true when the walls of the container are covered with moss; this growing environment is very unfavorable for the peace lily's growth.
Solution: When changing the water, clean the container thoroughly at the same time, and you can also disinfect it appropriately so that bacteria do not breed.
2. Change the water in time
Cause: If the water is not changed for a long time, the water quality will deteriorate, and there will also be a lot of bacteria in the water, which will not only affect the growth of the peace lily's roots but also cause root rot.
Solution: Change the water frequently, cut off the rotten roots, and disinfect them to prevent a second round of rot.
