Excerpt from the "30 Days to Help You Go from Zero Basics to Flower Growing Expert" series course

Yesterday Lanyao told a little story about autumn-planted bulb flowers. In fact, among bulb flowers, besides autumn-planted bulbs, there are also some spring-planted bulb flowers.

For example, the very common dahlia, dwarf dahlia, iris, and so on.

Many flower lovers may also plant lilies in spring, and even in summer. In fact, lilies are better planted in autumn. Spring planting should be done in early spring, because lilies still prefer a cool environment. Modern lily bulbs are artificially cold-treated. Although bulbs are sold in all four seasons, for us flower lovers, Lanyao suggests that you still plant them in autumn, winter, or early spring.

Back to the point, let's continue talking about spring-planted bulb flowers. A while ago, in Lanyao's reader group, a flower lover showed off the dahlia bulbs they had just bought.

From the picture you can see the bulbs are quite large, but unfortunately, it is already June now........

Lanyao's dahlias are already in full bloom. Buying dahlia bulbs at this time is really.......

In fact, growing flowers is really not something to do on a whim. Flowers are living things and need enough care and attention from us. At the same time, more importantly, we must follow the growth patterns of the four seasons.

Although dahlias are spring-planted bulbs and need higher temperatures to grow, dahlias are also not tolerant of high temperatures. Often in summer the above-ground part will wither, and the underground corm will enter a short dormant period.

So buying dahlia bulbs in June is really a time-consuming, labor-intensive, and thankless thing for dahlias.

If planted in June, it will get hot not long after it just sprouts and grows, and the dahlia will not have time to bloom before entering the dormant stage. And if care during the summer dormancy period is not adequate, it may very likely cause the bulbs to rot, and then dormancy really becomes eternal sleep!

In fact, many spring-planted bulbs enter a short dormant period in summer, so before buying bulb flowers, Lanyao suggests that you do some homework first. Wasting money is a small matter, but our time and energy are limited!

These past few days, what Lanyao has shared are all problems of buying the wrong seedlings due to not knowing enough about the habits of flowers. So how exactly should you buy in order to buy the right flowers that suit you?
