There is no real "garbage" in life, you just aren't using it correctly. Many of the things we consider household waste are actually great materials for growing flowers. Today I'll share a few household waste items that are very helpful for plant care.

1. Rotten eggs

In daily life we often run into eggs that go bad because we can't finish eating them, and eggs with cracks also go bad very easily. When this happens, the only option seems to be throwing them away, but in fact rotten eggs are a great material for growing flowers, and the method is fairly simple.

Generally, first gently crack the small end, pierce the inner membrane with a toothpick, and when repotting the plant, place it small end up at the bottom of the pot, then add nutrient soil and you can plant. Just keep the egg away from the roots. With the potting soil staying moist for a long time, the egg liquid will continuously rot and decompose inside the shell, releasing nutrients through the small hole and turning into fertilizer for the plants to absorb. The decomposed eggshell is also an excellent calcium fertilizer.

2. Sawdust

Generally, when renovating a home, quite a lot of sawdust is produced, and this sawdust is a great material for growing flowers. We can add an appropriate amount of water to the sawdust, put it in a plastic bag, tie the bag tightly, and leave it in the light to compost. Usually after one or two months it will be fully composted, and afterward it can be used as flower fertilizer or nutrient soil, both are excellent choices. During composting, you can also appropriately add some inorganic fertilizers such as potassium phosphate or urea and mix them in, which can increase the nutrients of the sawdust.

3. Beer

Beer contains a large amount of carbon dioxide, sugar, protein, amino acids and other nutrients, which can promote the growth of flowers. Generally, diluting expired beer and watering the flowers with it can promote flower growth, making the plants have green leaves and bright blooms, and it not only helps the flowers get sufficient nutrients.

Moreover, beer can also be diluted and sprayed on flowers, or a soft cloth can be dipped in it to wipe the leaves, which can make the leaves more glossy and attractive. It is very suitable for foliage plants, such as clivia, money tree, rubber tree and so on, all are very suitable.

4. Fish tank water

Fish tank water contains fish droppings and some leftover fish food, and it also contains a lot of nutrients. Moreover, the water changed out from the fish tank can be used to water flowers without fermentation. One thing to note is that fish tank water that has had salt added cannot be used for plants. Of course, letting it sit for about two days before watering is best.
