Don't throw away mango seeds - planting them in a flower pot makes a lovely little bonsai

Many friends like mangoes, but friends in the north have probably rarely seen a mango tree. In fact, you can grow a small mango tree potted plant at home. Although it won't bear mangoes, it's still a good choice as a small potted plant, and it's also quite novel. Here, Xiaonong will share with you how to grow a potted mango.
1. First, you need to prepare a mango. Be sure to choose a relatively ripe mango, because the seed of such a mango is better matured and can grow into a small mango seedling.
2. Eat the mango flesh and take out the seed. There will be a lot of flesh on the seed. At this point, you can clean it thoroughly with clear water. Then dry the mango seed in the sun so that the flesh on the seed's outer skin dries.
3. After drying the seed for about two days, the flesh on the outer skin is almost dry. Because the outer skin of the seed is relatively hard, it is quite difficult for the seed to sprout. So it is best to remove the outer skin of the seed, which makes sprouting easier. When cutting, be careful not to cut the embryo of the seed, otherwise it may easily fail to sprout. Take out the kernel.
4. The seed kernel taken out is brown, because the kernel has a layer of brown outer skin. You can remove it or leave it on. If you want to remove it, you can soak it in clear water, and then you can peel off the white skin of the kernel. After peeling, the kernel is white. To make the mango sprout earlier, you can soak the mango kernel in clear water. Generally, soak for about a week. If the temperature is suitable, signs of sprouting will usually appear in about three days. During soaking, it is best to change the water once a day, which can reduce the chance of the mango kernel rotting and spoiling.
5. The mango kernel that is about to sprout after soaking can be transplanted. When transplanting, choose a flower pot with relatively strong air permeability. For the potting soil, choose humus soil mixed with sandy soil. Plant the end of the mango with the embryo in the potting soil, which can promote the mango to sprout faster. Water thoroughly and move it to a shady place. Generally, it can sprout in about two weeks.
