The weather in Xiangyun, Dali is generally quite mild, with the lowest temperature not dropping below 5 degrees and the highest not rising above 30 degrees. The weather plays randomly through all four seasons of the year, whatever weather you want is what you get. Seeing people in down jackets and people in skirts at the same time is an utterly ordinary thing. Even when it is clearly spring, a passing shower sends you right back to winter.

In May 2016, after buying my first pot of succulents at the flower market, I fell into the succulent pit from then on and could not pull myself out. Since then I have embarked on a road of no return, constantly buying succulents, buying flower pots, buying soil. Every day I run to the balcony to see whether my succulents have changed color, whether any have disappeared. Every day I follow the Succulent Plant Encyclopedia, looking at the succulents the great masters grow, sharing their experience. When I see a beautiful variety I fall into the rhythm of buy, buy, buy again, and watching my poor wallet deflate once more o(╥﹏╥)o, ugh....

This is my first pot of succulents (a mixed pot), and I have kept it until now when it has grown so full it is overflowing the pot, and I can no longer photograph its full appearance.

The flowers are pretty

This year it produced lots of little pups

Then I started trying mixed pots. These three all grow too fast, filling the pot in half a year. The white porcelain pot looks very nice but is not breathable; personally I still prefer earthenware pots.

Later on the golden sedum got squeezed out completely

These were grown from leaf cuttings, with a very high survival rate, very tough, and in summer they have faded a bit.

The ebony has just settled into its pot

Red Lips is 15 cm, so plump, and when the temperature changes the leaf tips turn bright red.

Ruby, bought together with Red Lips, grows relatively slowly, and feels red all year round.

I don't remember the name, the jelly color is very pretty.

A cluster of Damu Fujinang, easy to keep alive and easy to fill the pot, likes water, and in the sun it even has a faint lemon scent.

Now it is preparing to bloom, and the buds are so big

Red Tendril Lotus, in summer it is Green Tendril Lotus, and with temperature differences it becomes Red Tendril Lotus. It tends to grow leggy, so it needs to be placed in a sunny environment.

String of Coins, when planting I added granular slow-release fertilizer inside, and after settling in it grew astonishingly fast, and is especially plump, I love it to death.

Blue Surprise, with a thick layer of powder, the color is very ethereal, and I am totally drawn to this kind of color.

Bembadis, a little bun, and with controlled watering the color becomes beautiful, a bit translucent.

Debbie, its color is just this willfully beautiful all year round, a color I especially like.

Purple Joy, with thick plump leaves and a beautiful color, a master at producing pups, and in half a year it produced lots.

Star Prince, an especially large pot, very tough. I cut several branches and gave them away, and now it has produced many more. My skills are poor so I cannot photograph a good picture, so I can only show a close-up.

Blue Apple, has always grown tightly compact, and has never shown its full colored state.

New Flower Moon Night, I really like this color. When the temperature difference is big, the red at the leaf edges becomes deeper and more extensive.

Millet Star, especially easy to fill the pot, I have always liked it. I cut some for friends, so it is a bit sparse now, and its shape is not very good.

Daniel, double-headed.

Nüchu, easy to fill the pot, the color is transparent jelly, very pink

Peach Beauty, the leaves are not plump. I pulled off all the lower leaves, and it also grew small offsets, but it is still not plump, and I cannot grow it into a round plump shape.

Chihuahua, it bloomed, and it still looks good, even the stem has turned pink

In summer, after sun exposure, it actually turned even pinker, and the flower stalks were cut off

Cute Rose, it needs low temperatures to have that pink color, and once the temperature rises it is no longer cute.

New Jade Necklace, a really big pot, and the matching pot looks very nice too. I wanted the leaves to stay emerald green, so I did not put it in the sun.

Xiuyan, when I bought it, it was still a bit pricey, but this beauty is still worth it, I really like it!

Purple Peony, I like the purple color, and the leaves have fine fuzz. When grown outdoors it cannot be rained on for long periods, as it easily turns to mush. Do not ask me why I know, this was a bloody lesson

Opalina, pink and plump, and once watered, the color fades quite a lot. It grows fairly fast

Yanrihui, each one planted has a different color, and the growth is very pleasing. It likes water and long hours of sunlight.

I felt that my Ice Plum was just different from other people's, and later I learned that this is Ice Plum hybrid

Brown Rose, when I bought it, it was dark green, almost black, and it was disliked for a while, but later its color became out of this world.

Little Tengu

Ji Mingjing, I super like it, little green roses one after another, easy to fill the pot

Recently I have been crazy about the Aeonium series, it is just a bit hard to tell the names of the Aeoniums apart. I just entered the pit, and the Aeoniums are still small, but accidentally a few of them black-rotted and passed away

Bouquet-shaped, very pretty

When the weather turns cold in winter, it becomes a more translucent red

Yanrihui, my favorite pot, this is an older photo, and later I separated it

I planted several pots, and each pot has different colors

The color changes are rich, I love it

This color is simply unmatched

Yellow Bear, when I bought it, it was a tiny little one, and now it has grown much bigger. Later I also bought White Bear, and seeing the great masters post theirs with off-the-charts beauty, but mine is still small and has no colored state yet

Qiuli, many small seedlings from leaf cuttings, a really big pot, the color is very ethereal
