She Rescued a Dead Flower from the Trash and It Bloomed Like Crazy in 2 Months

This is day 908 of Lanyao's daily original article
An excerpt from the series "30 Days from Complete Beginner to Flower-Growing Expert"
Yesterday Lanyao told everyone a little story about annual and biennial flowers, and today Lanyao has another little story to share.
This little story happened to someone else, but I believe many flower lovers have experienced the same thing, so let's hear it together, and see if you've ever done something this foolish.
The main character of yesterday's story was Lanyao's neighbor, and the main character of today's story is still this lovely neighbor. To be honest, she really loves flowers, or more accurately, she really loves buying flowers, hehe...
Here's what happened. Last winter, this neighbor came to Lanyao's house to visit and noticed that Lanyao had a cyclamen blooming beautifully. She was very interested, but this time she wasn't interested in the flower, but in Lanyao's flower pot.
"Hey, this flower pot of yours looks just like the one I threw away before, and this flower looks the same too. Did you just buy it?"
Her question made me remember that this cyclamen wasn't actually bought by Lanyao, but picked up by Lanyao.
One morning last summer, Lanyao went to throw out the trash and happened to run into the sanitation worker who collects garbage in the village. In his garbage cart was this pot of cyclamen, though at the time it was in a dead, withered state, with dried leaves still clinging to the pot.
After asking, Lanyao learned that he had collected it as garbage from the trash bin, so Lanyao asked for it. After taking it home and tipping it out to check, the cyclamen's root tuber was still in good shape, so Lanyao kept it. In autumn, Lanyao watered it and gave it some fertilizer, and once winter came, it started blooming like crazy.
After hearing Lanyao tell the story of this cyclamen's origins, the neighbor was dumbfounded.
"I thought it was dead! How did you pick it up and bring it back to life, and it's even blooming so many flowers?"
Dear friends, do you have the same question?
Actually, it's very simple. Cyclamen is an autumn-planted bulbous flower that prefers a cool environment.
When the summer heat arrives, cyclamen enters a dormant period, which shows as the above-ground stems and leaves withering and dying, while the underground tuber enters dormancy. When the weather turns cool, the underground tuber will sprout again and begin to grow.
Many autumn-planted bulbous flowers have this characteristic, so don't think they're really dead just because the above-ground part has died. Actually, they're just sleeping, and you can wake them up when the temperature is suitable.
Here's a reminder for beginner flower lovers:
If your lily, gladiolus, freesia, or other bulbous flowers have withered above ground in summer, then please keep the potting soil dry, or dig out the bulbs and store them. Don't casually throw them away, or you'll be making a big loss!
