There are many kinds of succulents, and growing methods vary by variety. Dudleya is a cute succulent plant, and it is also very easy to care for. Today the editor will share some care tips for the Dudleya succulent.

Habits: Dudleya likes a warm and dry growing environment. It cannot tolerate cold or drought, and strong light exposure should also be reduced. For example, at noon in summer, you need to choose a shady spot. If the light is relatively sufficient, the leaves of Dudleya are very beautiful, a deep blue-green, while if the light is insufficient, the color will be relatively lighter.

Pots: It is recommended to mainly use purple clay or coarse pottery with good breathability. If the flower pot is fully glazed inside and out, it looks beautiful, but the breathability is not good enough. After one watering, it will not dry in three to five days, and the roots are prone to rot. Generally, repot once every 2 years or so. When choosing a flower pot, note that it only needs to be 1-2 cm larger than the plant.

Soil mix: For the potting soil of Dudleya, you can choose mainly peat mixed with granules, supplemented with organic fertilizer, which helps Dudleya take root and grow. The potting soil must also maintain breathability and drainage performance. It is not recommended to use kanuma soil; it tends to powder, which is instead unfavorable for water and air permeability.

Light: In spring and autumn, the light is relatively mild, so there is no big problem, but in summer we need to place it in a shady spot at noon, because the temperature itself is already very high, and without shading, water loss will be very fast; in winter, because Dudleya grows relatively slowly, we need to move it back indoors to increase light and maintain the temperature of Dudleya's growing environment.

Watering: The weather in summer is hot. Normally, plants need more watering, but Dudleya is generally in its dormant period, so we need to reduce the frequency of watering, and wait until after September before gradually resuming the watering frequency. In winter, placed indoors, if the temperature can still remain above 0°C, watering is normal. When the potting soil looks relatively dry, you can water. If the temperature is below 0°C, do not water, otherwise the roots will be frozen and damaged.

After reading this, do you all understand how to care for Dudleya? The leaf color of Dudleya is unique, making it very suitable as decoration for Nordic-style homes.
