The rose is a plant of the Rosaceae family, blooming in all four seasons, and has the beautiful title of "Queen of Flowers"; it can also be called "monthly red". It prefers a sunny, well-ventilated environment, and only grows well when it receives at least 5-6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Today I will summarize for everyone the common problems in the process of growing potted roses.

One

Repotting

The size of the flowerpot for growing roses should match the size of the plant. The pot must not be too small. When the plant grows until the roots and stems fill the pot, the pot should be replaced in time to meet the needs of continued root and stem development.

When repotting in spring, the plant has already begun to grow. If too much of the original potting soil is replaced, the root system will be damaged, which can easily cause the new buds to die after repotting, and may even cause the whole plant to die. Therefore, repotting should be done before the leaf buds sprout.

Two

Root pruning

When repotting, if the plant's roots are pruned too heavily, making it difficult for their absorption capacity to recover and breaking the balance between the aboveground and belowground parts, it will also cause the plant to die.

Three

Pruning of branches and leaves

After the flowers fade, the upper part of the branch connected to the spent flower should be cut off in time to promote the early growth of new branches and reblooming. If a branch is found to be growing especially vigorously, it should be appropriately shortened to avoid consuming too much nutrients and affecting the growth of other branches. When growth is too dense in summer, it should also be pruned appropriately.

Four

Watering

During the growing period, the plant consumes more water. In addition, the summer weather is hot and water evaporates quickly, so it needs to be watered once in the morning and once in the evening every day to keep the water supply sufficient. If it rains, watering can be reduced appropriately. However, special attention should be paid to potted roses: do not let water accumulate.

Five

Temperature

In winter, roses overwinter indoors. Because the room temperature is relatively high, they fail to enter dormancy properly. By the following spring, before they are moved outdoors, the leaf buds have already sprouted and grown, consuming most of the nutrients stored in the branches. After being moved outdoors, the young buds cannot adapt to the changeable climate and cannot withstand the invasion of cold air and cold wind, which easily causes the plant to die.
