① Pruning shears: used for pruning branches below 3,-4cm.

⑨ Pruning saw: used for sawing off relatively thick branches.

④ Chainsaw: used for sawing off thick branches and trunks.

⑤ Long-reach chainsaw: used for sawing off branches high up that are not very thick

⑥ Hedge shears: used for trimming hedges.

(2) Safety measures for landscape tree pruning and shaping

① During pruning, tools should be kept sharp. Prepare protective equipment, tree-climbing gear and ladders, and carefully check the flexibility of each part before use to see whether anything is loose, so as to avoid accidents. Fasten the safety rope securely when working up in the tree.

② It is best to wear soft-soled rubber shoes when pruning up in the tree, to prevent damaging the bark and the occurrence of disease.

③ If someone is pruning up in a tree or on a high stool, no other personnel should carry out other operations below the tree, and passers-by should also pay attention, in case large branches are sawed off and fall, or a saw, pruning shears, etc. are dropped by accident, causing unnecessary personal injury or death.

④ When pruning trees with large crowns, use a high stool as much as possible to reduce the frequency of climbing the tree, thereby protecting the bark so that it remains intact and preventing damage to all types of branches. After pruning a large tree, check it over again, so that any improper points in the pruning can be found and corrected in time. For those large branches or individual trees left for re-pruning in spring, mark them clearly.

⑤ Branches, dead branches, etc. that have been cut off must be cleaned up thoroughly to prevent pests and diseases.

⑥ Personnel suffering from high blood pressure or heart disease are not allowed to climb trees, and in severe weather, climbing trees for operations is not permitted.
