When growing tomatoes, the thing you fear most is them lodging or getting blossom end rot, especially young seedlings that have just been planted.

Growing tomatoes well is actually not hard, and a few common things around the house can help you. When planting, add some of them to the soil, and your tomato stems will surely be firm and upright, with more fruit than you can ever eat!

Aspirin

The common aspirin tablets around the house have a good preventive and controlling effect on tomato wilt, and they can promote tomato growth and increase tomato yields.

Dissolve a few aspirin tablets in water, then pour this solution onto the soil. The plants will absorb these substances through the soil, thereby strengthening their disease resistance.

Epsom salt

Epsom salt is what we call magnesium sulfate. The Epsom salt sold in pharmacies will do. It is rich in magnesium, which can effectively promote tomato growth. Sometimes tomatoes get sick, and a lack of magnesium has a lot to do with it.

When using Epsom salt, be careful not to let the tomato roots come into direct contact with it. You can put some Epsom salt in the soil, then cover it with a layer of soil.

Eggshells

Eggshells can effectively prevent tomatoes from getting blossom end rot. The calcium contained in eggshells can make weak young plants more robust, so they can better resist these diseases.

When using eggshells, wash them clean, then crush them and toss them into the soil.

Baking soda

If tomatoes are too sour, it affects how they taste. Baking soda from the kitchen can do the job. It can regulate the sour taste of tomatoes well and make them sweeter.

When the tomatoes start setting fruit, sprinkle a ring of baking soda around the soil, or dissolve the baking soda in water and pour it around the soil. After this treatment, the acidity of the tomatoes will be reduced, and they will taste better.

Fish heads

When we cook fish, we sometimes throw away the fish heads, but actually these fish heads are very good for tomatoes. Leftover fish heads from cooking and eating work too.

Fish heads are rich in nutrients such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and nitrogen. These substances can effectively promote tomato fruiting.

Dig a somewhat deep hole, throw the fish heads in, and the fish heads will slowly break down and release these nutrients, continuously nourishing the tomatoes and supplying them with ample nutrients.

Friends who plan to grow tomatoes must try the methods above. That way you won't have to worry about them getting sick anymore, and the fruit they bear will be sweet and big, more than you can eat!
