The gardenia can be said to be one of the most popular flowers. When we grow gardenias, the moment we look forward to most is the instant it blooms, and also the bud stage. Even if it hasn't opened yet, there is a slow sense of achievement and anticipation in your heart.

Then I believe many people will have an experience like this: the moment a bud that finally managed to grow drops off, you just want to dedicate a song called "Liang Liang" to yourself. In fact, this happens because you failed to do well in some aspect and made it angry. If you want to know how to handle it, hurry up and follow Huahua to take a look!

If we just bought it from the flower market and it starts dropping buds, this can also be considered a normal phenomenon, because after all it has just entered a new environment, so at this time the gardenia is very fragile. A light touch or a gust of wind will make it drop buds and leaves.

In this situation, we first need to keep our distance from it. Absolutely do not disturb it. It should be placed in a semi-shaded place, and it should not be exposed to too strong sunlight, otherwise it will speed up the dropping of buds, and in severe cases it will even scorch the leaves.

There is also the matter of ventilation. This ventilation does not mean putting it in a drafty spot, otherwise within one night you will find that all the buds have already fallen to the ground. However, this situation generally passes after two weeks. If later the dropping is no longer serious, that means it has adapted to the environment of its new home. At this point you can appropriately increase watering and light for it.

But this is limited to gardenias that were just bought. If a gardenia that has already been grown for a long time still drops buds, then we need to look for other reasons, for example, the simplest yet hardest to master thing: watering.

Although the gardenia likes a relatively moist growing environment, absolutely do not overwater, because once there is too much water it will cause root rot, thereby affecting the growth of the plant, and the dropping of buds and leaves will be no surprise. The condition for judging is to look at the degree of soil moisture. You can poke a wooden stick into the potting soil (be careful not to hurt the plant's roots), then take it out and look at how moist the wooden stick is.

If it is too wet, immediately stop watering, then place it in a ventilated spot to speed up evaporation of moisture. But this method is limited to plants whose condition is not serious. If the leaves begin to turn yellow and the base begins to slowly turn black, that means you need to change the soil for it as soon as possible.

First stop watering for two days, which makes it easier to take out. Clean off the original soil completely, cut off the rotted roots, then let it dry, waiting for the root wounds to heal. Finally we can repot it. You can first slightly moisten the soil, then plant it into it.

By the way, we can also deal with the leaves on top. At this time, do not worry about the buds. The most important thing is to let it survive first. In this way, cutting off those useless leaves can also avoid wasting nutrients and speed up the growth of new roots.

Another reason is insufficient nutrients. Although it has already grown buds, because there is no momentum to support them, it can only maintain the plant's growth by dropping the buds. Therefore, regular fertilizing is a good medicine for promoting its blooming, but note that it must be diluted with water, otherwise the consequences can be much more serious than overwatering!
