Lucky bamboo is a plant in the Asparagaceae family, also called Fortune Bamboo. People associate it with the saying "blossoms bring wealth and honor, bamboo brings peace." Its leaves are emerald green, and its stems and leaves are elegant and full of charm, making it very popular. Hydroponic lucky bamboo easily gets yellow leaves, but as long as you do this: white roots will grow in a rush, and green leaves will keep sprouting!

1. For newly purchased lucky bamboo, trim off a section from the bottom and remove the old leaves at the base. After putting it in water, do not let it soak in too much water; just submerge it to about 4 cm above the roots. Then place it in a shaded, well-ventilated spot.

2. Newly hydroponically grown lucky bamboo needs frequent water changes so the water stays clean. Do not expose it to strong sunlight, to reduce water evaporation. At this stage, do not add nutrient fertilizer; this is better for root growth.

3. Generally, white roots will grow in half a month to more than twenty days.

4. Newly purchased hydroponic lucky bamboo may have a small amount of yellowing leaves before it grows roots; this is normal. After the roots grow out, the leaves grow more steadily and become lush green.

5. When choosing lucky bamboo, do not choose damaged ones. Light must not be too strong; only then can it be grown well.

6. If hydroponic lucky bamboo has a small amount of yellow leaves, cut them off immediately, then also clean off the layer of skin connected above the stem, to reduce water consumption.

7. In summer, do not place it in a place with too high a temperature; in winter, also place it in a warm spot.

8. Replenish nutrients in time. For example, put rusty iron nails or iron pieces in the water, and wipe the lucky bamboo leaves with low-concentration beer diluted with water, once a week; the leaves will be shiny and glowing green. It looks very energetic and beautiful!
