Every year, the growth of the West Lake lotuses touches the hearts of residents and tourists alike, and now the annual West Lake lotus season is about to arrive once again.

A few days ago, temperatures in Hangzhou kept rising, with the highest temperature reaching 35°C. In order to recreate the beautiful scene of the West Lake lotuses, the lake surface maintenance team of the West Lake Water Area Management Office recently began using potted lotus transplanting to beautify the lotus areas.

That morning, team members of the lake surface maintenance team of the West Lake Water Area Management Office, dressed in full waterproof suits, jumped into the lake one after another with a "splash" and a "splash," beginning to carry and transplant the potted plants. The team members on the boat handed the potted lotuses to the team members underwater in an orderly manner. After receiving them, the team members in the water carefully separated the lotuses from the flower pots, then used shovels to dig planting holes where the transplanting was needed, and carried out the transplanting of the potted lotuses. What looks like a simple action actually requires close coordination among the team members, and because a large part of the transplanting process is carried out underwater, the degree of difficulty is extremely high.

Chen Laidi, captain of the lake surface maintenance team, told reporters that in order to make the West Lake lotuses bloom even more brilliantly when they enter their full bloom period next month, they will certainly transplant and tend them carefully, so that residents and tourists who love lotuses will be fully satisfied.
