I first came across my first rose, the Greenovia aurea, in 2014, when I saw it in a succulent greenhouse in Zhengzhou. The moment I saw it, my eyes were deeply drawn to it, so beautiful... the heart of the flower was wrapped in golden-yellow leaves, with a ring of small flowers around the center, absolutely gorgeous! But because the rose bloomed and then left me, I didn't buy another rose for a long time
Then in 2018 I took part in a certain activity and was very fortunate to win second place. The second-place prize is as shown in the picture - the RD03 "Splendid Blooms" rose set! When it was mailed to my hands, I was stunned, how could it be so beautiful? What kind of pot should I find to match the roses?
This is the first home I found for them. My photography skills aren't good, please forgive me haha
They looked too crowded, so I found a second hand-woven pot, looks okay! Enough for them to spread their smiling faces!
Right after that I bought another set of the Eight Auspicious Symbols! Although there are duplicates, each one's condition is different!
Fengling small cluster
Fengying
Super big Ruohua
Beautiful Yuese
Blood Cherry - is the little donkey pulling Blood Cherry off to the rose garden?
Wind, Flower, Snow, Moon: namely Wind (Fengying)/(Fengling), Flower (Ruohua), Snow (Blood Cherry), Moon (Yuese)
Peach - is it the one Wukong missed when he sneaked a bite in the peach garden?
The little turtle carries a white jade egg on its back
A rose with lace edges
These are all my lovely rose garden, because I was afraid of rain, I moved them all under the table
I'm a beginner at growing roses. Through continuous learning, I learned that in summer roses are in deep sleep. When you see the roses starting to close up in April and May, you can gradually cut off water. When the temperature reaches 30 degrees, cut off water completely. At this time you can put the roses in a place with good ventilation and light!
During the water cut-off period there is no need to water. In high-temperature weather, if moisture gets into the leaves, be sure to blow it dry! Otherwise the moisture will produce water vapor on the leaves under high temperature, and the leaves will turn black. Mr. Haidao said the three essentials for surviving summer are "shade, ventilation, cut off water". Master these three points and the roses will sleep beautifully in summer, waiting for autumn to arrive!
For the rose soil mix, I combined the suggestions of Mr. Haidao and Brother Tiger: 60% granules + 40% peat. The granules are akadama, red volcanic stone, maifan stone, green zeolite, plus some vermiculite and rice husk ash! While retaining water, it can also drain out excess water!
Finally, let me put up a picture of Haidao's Parma rose to dazzle your eyes
