Eggshells are a wonderful treasure for growing flowers, making plants grow vigorously and bloom abundantly

Eggshells are a very common item in daily life, and most people just throw them away as garbage, but for plant lovers, eggshells are a treasure for growing flowers, and it is really a pity to just throw them away. Using eggshells to grow flowers works extremely well.
Eggshells are rich in minerals, mainly calcium, protein, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and other elements, and can provide fairly ample nutrients for flowers and plants. Of course, besides providing certain nutrients, they also have many other clever uses.
1. Compost
Wash discarded eggshells from daily life clean, dry them in the sun and then crush them, the finer the better. After that they can be put into a compost bin. This is a very good composting material and can increase the calcium content in the soil, but just do not mix it with alkaline soil.
2. Small crawling insects
After washing eggshells clean and crushing them, spread them on the surface of the potting soil. This can prevent snails and slugs. Eggshells can drive away snails and slugs. The sharp edges of the eggshells can easily cut open the soft bellies of snails, and are very effective against many mollusks, so they can achieve the purpose of pest control to a certain extent.
3. Natural flower fertilizer
Eggshells are a very good mineral fertilizer. When using them, we first wash the eggshells clean, dry them in the sun and then crush them, grind them into powder, as this will work better. In this way they can be mixed into the soil and used when potting up, or placed on the surface of the potting soil. The nutrients can seep into the potting soil along with the water when watering, providing nutrition for flowers and plants.
In addition, eggshells are a very good seedling pot. Prick a small hole in the bottom of the eggshell with a needle for drainage and use it when cultivating seedlings. When the seedlings grow bigger, they can be transplanted into flower pots for care.
