Since succulents were introduced from abroad in recent years, they have become deeply loved by everyone because of their cute and charming appearance. Ever since entering the succulent hobby, you just want to collect all kinds of succulents, but the hardest part of succulent care is repotting. One careless move and they will simply die, so do not repot unless you absolutely have to. However, as long as any of the following situations appear, you must repot them, otherwise it will easily lead to the death of the succulents.

After they grow and fill the pot

During the growing season of succulents, as long as they are cared for properly, they will grow like crazy. After filling the pot, the succulents will fill the entire pot. At this time, many people are reluctant to repot them in order to keep them looking attractive, which will hinder the growth of the succulents, so you must repot the succulents in time.

Slow growth during the growing season

Spring and autumn are exactly the growing seasons for succulents. If there are no major problems with your usual care, but the succulents still show no sign of growing, it means the succulents need to be repotted. The biggest reason succulents do not grow is the loss of nutrients from the soil, so we need to give the succulents some loose and fertile soil, so that the succulents can grow better.

Root rot

If we water the succulents too much, their roots will remain moist for a long time, causing the roots to rot, so we need to remove them from the pot, trim off the rotten roots, disinfect the wounds, put them in a cool place to dry, and then directly pot them up.

Notes after repotting

If you are going to repot a succulent, do not water it one week beforehand, because repotting can only be done when the soil is dry.

After repotting, do not water immediately. Just place it in a cool and ventilated environment, because the succulent roots need a process of adapting. After it has settled into the pot, you can use a spray bottle to lightly spray the soil, just enough to make the surface soil slightly moist.
