Jasmine is in bloom season recently. If you grow it well at home, the fragrance of the flowers fills the whole room. But flower lovers who have not grown it well do not need to sigh either. Once you learn these simple tricks, you can have flowers to enjoy.

1. Watering tricks

Jasmine likes moist soil and is most afraid of waterlogging. With long-term drought, sprouting and growth become weak, branches and leaves wither, and flowering is affected; if the soil is often waterlogged, it easily causes root rot and plant death. When watering, you must wait until the soil is dry before watering, and you must not water too much or too often. In summer, water once in the morning and once in the evening; in spring and autumn, watering once every two to three days on sunny days is enough.

In winter, when the temperature is lower, water less; in the rainy season, pay attention to drainage and do not let water accumulate in the pot. If you find the roots turning black and the branches and leaves growing weakly, it means there is too much water. Let it dry for a few days before watering again.

2. Fertilizing tricks

Fertilizing can be done together with watering. Especially from May to September, during the period of heavy flowering and growth, apply a dilute general-purpose organic liquid fertilizer for flowers once a week, diluted 500 times and poured at the roots. Fertilizing should be done in the evening. Stop fertilizing in late autumn to prevent cold damage.

3. Pruning tricks

After the late frost each year, jasmine should be pruned and its leaves thinned when it begins to sprout. Cut off dead and diseased branches, thin out excess leaves, and keep only four or five healthy leaves on each branch. If jasmine plants need to be divided or repotted, do it at this time as well. Generally, repot once every two years to improve the soil conditions.

Flower lovers should note that dividing and repotting must be done before budding. Around early to mid-May, when new shoots emerge and flower buds begin to form, all the first small batch of flower buds should be removed before they develop, so as to concentrate nutrients, grow good flowering branches, and make later flowers grow vigorously.

In addition, when the temperature is lower in severe winter, the jasmine pot must be moved indoors to overwinter. After February or March of the following year, move it outdoors again to prevent cold damage.
