The leaves are the face of the clivia, the part that has to be shown off to people. So from the leaves you can tell how good the quality of the clivia is, and you can also tell whether your friends have been taking care of it with care. If you want the clivia's leaves to grow with a more emerald, more pleasing look, then follow me and learn two tricks. These two tips can not only change the clivia's outward appearance, but also change its constitution, so they are really quite useful.

Method one: wiping the leaves with beer to sterilise them

Maybe when I mention this method, your friends will think it is a folk remedy and not trustworthy. But what I want to say is that this method has a scientific basis, and whether it works on clivia is determined by beer's ingredients. Beer contains a small amount of alcohol, which can sterilise, so have your friends ever felt that knowledge has limited your thinking! Besides this benefit, beer also contains carbon dioxide, which can promote metabolism, so wiping the leaves with diluted beer is beneficial, and your friends can give it a try. This method also has no side effects.

Note: do not wipe directly with beer; it must be diluted first.

Method two: wiping the leaves with white vinegar to remove dirt

White vinegar can remove dirt. If the leaves are covered with a thick layer of dust, it really spoils the visual enjoyment! For friends who are neat freaks, it is simply unbearable, so this method is specially prepared for neat freaks. But wiping directly with white vinegar will not work, as it will burn the leaves. So I suggest diluting it first before wiping. The ratio of white vinegar to water can be 1:15, that is, 1 or 2 liang of white vinegar mixed with 15 kg of tap water, and then wipe the leaves with a soft cloth, and the leaves will become emerald green and glossy.

Note: protect the leaf core and the pseudobulb to prevent water rot.

If you want the leaves to grow well, you can wipe them with diluted beer, and this can be tried over the long term. If you want a dirt-removing effect, you can choose white vinegar. The two liquids target different situations, so your friends can choose according to the condition of the clivia.
