When you bring a succulent home, you must repot it, or you will regret it too late

Many friends who love buying and growing succulents will buy lots of them at the flower shop, and when they see a beautiful one they cannot resist taking it home. So, the succulents we bring home, should we change their pot and soil, or should we keep growing them in the original pot and soil, or should we replace everything
Actually, I think that for succulents bought at a flower shop, you should look at what kind of pot and soil are used, whether the soil's air permeability is good, and whether it is nutrient soil or yellow clay soil. If it is a relatively expensive succulent, the pot and soil certainly will not be too bad, so whether you repot or not is fine. But if it is grown in a simple pot, it is best to replace everything
The soil mix for succulents bought at the flower market is relatively uniform, and over time it easily becomes compacted. It is only good for propagation and cultivation, but not good for succulent growth, so it is best to replace it. Otherwise, the succulent will grow less and less vigorous, and by the time you regret it, it will be too late
So how should we repot them
First, carefully remove the succulent from the pot, being careful not to damage the leaves and main roots, and remove the excess pot soil. The soil close to the roots can be gently brushed off with a small brush, but do not pull or tug hard.
Gently swirl the succulent roots in water to wash away the impurities on the root surface. Do not swirl or rinse forcefully; keep the damage to the roots to a minimum.
Clean up all the dead roots, rotten roots and overly long old roots. Do not be reluctant to prune the old roots; old roots are no longer strong at absorbing water and nutrients, and only by cutting some of them off can the new roots that emerge make the succulent grow more luxuriantly.
After pruning the roots, soak them in carbendazim for five to ten minutes, then place them in a cool, ventilated place to dry. Once the water on the roots has completely dried and the roots are slightly dry, they can be planted in the pot.
Carefully plant the dried succulent in fresh pot soil and press the soil firm. At this time, do not water immediately; slightly moist pot soil is enough. After about one week, the succulent will be able to grow new roots, and then you can water and care for it normally.
Note that during this one-week acclimatisation period, it must not be placed in direct sunlight; just put it in a place with bright, indirect light and good ventilation. If the pot soil is too dry, lightly mist the surface with a little water, but you must control your hands and not water it.
