20 kinds of flowers planted in 1 glass bottle, leaves covered in water droplets, absolutely beautiful
What does a micro-landscape look like
The picture below might make you think it's a corner of a small garden. It doesn't need brightly colored flowers; just these grasses alone are eye-catching
Actually, this is just one corner of a micro-landscape. This glass tank is less than 1 m long! The variety of plants inside exceeds 20 kinds, with mountains, water and grassland... Isn't this the dream of every flower grower?
The picture below looks like a spot in the Zhangjiajie scenic area, simply a fairyland on earth
Haha, wake up. See the phone next to it? This "scenic area" is less than half a sq m
There are even cute little figures, actually living in a flower (garden) pot (planter) the size of a palm
Cat lovers who can't keep cats, try making a cat landscape. Enjoy it however you like
A big white bowl can hold a whole family of Totoro, so dreamy
Chinese style suits it too. High mountains and flowing water, meeting a kindred spirit~
Hey hey, this contestant below, inside and outside the Great Wall, wind blows the grass low to reveal cattle and sheep
Micro-landscapes look rich, but actually use very few materials. A few grasses, a few pieces of moss, a few stones and you can make one. Plates, bowls, fish tanks, yogurt bottles can all serve as containers!
What's in a micro-landscape
The plants in a micro-landscape are relatively small, very delicate and cute. Huahua has summarized some here, you can refer to them when making yours
1. Essentials
Moss is the most commonly used top-dressing plant in micro-landscapes. It's not only clean and beautiful, but also retains moisture. Sphagnum moss can be used as the soil for landscape plants, more beneficial to their growth than soil
2. Grasses
Micro-landscapes emphasize varied heights. At the very back you can plant some miniature trees, such as parlor palm, dwarf umbrella tree, orange jasmine, etc.; then pair with some graceful ferns: coral fern, brake fern, silver ribbon fern, etc.; finally add some companion grasses, mainly nerve plant and pitcher plant
3. Small ornaments
Of course, landscape pots can't do without small ornaments. Little figurines of various shapes add a lot of storytelling. Many flower lovers grow them for the children at home, especially suitable for fun education for kids
How to make a micro-landscape
Even though a micro-landscape has a lot of things in it, it's actually simpler to make than growing flowers. Try it if you don't believe me~
1. Preparation
Prepare some moss, soil, stones (size depending on the pot), and small sand grains (not shown in the picture)
2. Fill the pot in order
Depending on the pot size, put a layer of crushed stone at the very bottom, which can also be replaced with perlite or small clay pebbles, then add a layer of soil, and finally put on a few pieces of moss, no need to cover it fully at first
3. Plant the plants
Plant the small plants, then cover fully with moss. If the container is too small, use cotton swabs or tweezers to handle it. Finally place the small ornaments, spray water, and put it in a cool place to acclimate
4. Daily care of the micro-landscape
The plants in a micro-landscape all like shade and moisture, so be sure to note: don't expose to strong light, keep moist at all times. Generally place it in a cool corner at home, spray water every day and it'll be fine
A micro-landscape is actually cleaner than growing flowers. Flower lovers who worry about moisture breeding insects can plant some pitcher plants and sundews, they all eat mosquitoes
Think growing flowers takes up space and is troublesome?
Then try a micro-landscape
If you've already made one
