If you water asparagus fern with rice water and skip this step, no wonder it gets yellow leaves and root rot

Rice water can be used to water asparagus fern, because it contains the nutrients the plant needs for growth, but it must be fermented before watering, otherwise it will make the soil compact. The fermentation time is about 1 month in winter and 10 days in summer, and before watering it needs to be diluted with water to prevent root burn.
1. Reasons
Rice water is slightly acidic and contains a variety of nutrients needed for plant growth, among which phosphorus is relatively abundant. Phosphorus can promote the differentiation of leaf buds and help flowering. It also contains iron, which can prevent iron-deficiency chlorosis. If you often water with rice water, the color of its branches and leaves will become even more vivid.
2. Method
Put the rice water into an empty jar and seal the mouth tightly. The fermentation time depends on the season; in winter it needs about 1 month of decomposition before use, while in summer about 10 days is enough. When watering, it must be diluted with 70%-80% water before it can be used for watering.
3. Precautions
Asparagus fern must not be watered with unfermented rice water, otherwise it will cause soil compaction, which in turn causes poor root respiration. Moreover, if the unfermented components in the rice water accumulate too much, they will ferment in the soil and generate heat, causing root rot, yellow leaves, and dry leaves in asparagus fern. If you must use unfermented rice water to water flowers, it must be settled or diluted.
During the growing period, pay attention to watering; lack of water can easily cause the leaf tips of asparagus fern to dry up. At the same time, proper fertilization is also needed, and a mixed fertilizer containing nitrogen and potassium should be chosen.
