Care for Oncidium this way for a long flowering period and plain, elegant blooms

Oncidium has bright flowers and long, soft, drooping leaves. When it blooms, several small flowers open on a single flower spike, matching the green leaves, very plain and elegant. Because of this, it is loved by many scholars and refined people, and is the ideal choice for placing in studies and on office desks.
There are many varieties of Oncidium, and the flowering period is relatively unfixed, varying slightly depending on the variety and the growing region, but it is mainly concentrated from April to November, with the most flowering in spring and summer. Flower colors include yellow, white, green, magenta and brown, among which yellow is the most common and also the most popular. The flowering period is as short as one month and as long as two months.
Oncidium likes a warm environment and cannot adapt to weather that is too hot or too cold. When the summer temperature is above 30°C (early summer), it needs to be cooled down, and when the winter temperature is below 15°C, it needs to be kept warm. Oncidium is very delicate, so direct sun exposure is absolutely forbidden! Do not keep it outdoors.
It also likes shade and coolness, so placing it in a spot with indirect light indoors is best. Except for the milder sunlight of spring and winter, when it can be placed on a balcony, outdoor growing is not recommended at other times. Even if it is placed on a balcony, it must be placed under tall plants with dense branches and leaves for shade, otherwise it is very easily sunburned.
Oncidium likes moisture, and it can be watered when the soil is half dry; do not wait until the soil is completely dry before watering, as it can easily die of drought. In humid weather such as the spring plum rain or the rainy summer, water less, once every one week or ten days is enough, otherwise the roots rot easily. Besides watering the soil normally (especially when you cannot water much in humid weather), you can sprinkle water around the flower pot and also sprinkle water on the leaves, which cools it down and increases air humidity.
When Oncidium is in bloom, its growing environment should be kept at a lower temperature plus slightly less water, because too high a temperature plus too much water will speed up the plant's growth (or rather, its metabolism), and the flowering period is not easily maintained for long. So when it is in bloom, do not let the flowers get sunlight, and the amount of watering should also be controlled.
