Scavenging Plants

Since we are going to start scavenging trash for gardening, of course we have to start with scavenging plants~ Picking up a potted plant is saving a life!
Flower markets and neighborhood trash cans often have discarded plants. These plants are usually just in poor condition. Take them home, and they can still be kept alive!

The pothos just picked up and brought home had yellowing, limp leaves, but after a while it actually grew into a curtain!
Sometimes, if you are lucky, you can even pick up the plant together with the pot~
Digging Potting Soil

The most important thing for gardening is potting soil. Loose, breathable, and nutrient-rich potting soil is essential for gardening. Sometimes, these good things can be picked up right by the roadside!
1. Pine needle soil
Under the pine trees in neighborhoods or roadside green belts, there is a thin layer of pine needle soil. Brush aside the top layer of pine needles, and you can see the black pine needle soil.
Since there is only a very small amount of pine needle soil, plant lovers can pick up the pine needles and garden soil under the pine trees, take them home, mix them, water them, and let them ferment. Use them after 2-3 months.
2. Leaf mold
Leaf mold is also relatively easy for plant lovers to collect. Roadside flower beds and small woods accumulate large amounts of fallen leaves in season. Take them home and you can make your own leaf mold.
After taking them home, scald the fallen leaves with hot water, then mix them with garden soil and put them in a bucket, sealing it with a black plastic bag. Place it in the sun to ferment. During this period, water it another 1-2 times. After 2-3 months, it can be used.
Drainage Layer at the Bottom of the Pot

Only by keeping the flower pot with good breathability and drainage can the plants grow well and vigorously. This naturally depends on putting some material at the bottom of the pot~
1. Roadside gravel and broken tiles
Roadside crushed stones and broken tiles are the easiest to pick up. Use them to line the bottom of the pot for drainage and breathability.
2. Pine cones
When picking up pine needles, plant lovers might as well also pick up some pine cones along the way. Take them home and dry them in the sun, and they can be used to line the bottom of the pot.

Are all the gardening materials ready? No, no, no, how can it be finished without a plant stand! Plant stands can also be picked up from the roadside~
If there are renovating shops or construction sites nearby, keep a close eye on them. Once you find discarded scrap wood, remember to take it home immediately!
Simply nail it together, paint a layer of paint, and after placing plants on it, it saves space and looks good!
If the wood you pick up is too small to make a large plant stand, you can choose to make a succulent combination pot. It looks just as good.
After reading this, are you tempted?
Hurry out for a walk,
Maybe you will also have a surprise harvest!
