Garlic for pest control

Garlic has a fairly strong smell, which is very irritating to bugs but has little effect on flowers and plants, and it also has a sterilizing and disinfecting effect
1. Garlic water kills aphids
Crush the garlic, add some clean water (ratio of 1 garlic clove to 50ml water), soak for about 3 hours, then filter it, put the water into a small spray bottle, and spray it on the spots where the bugs are
2. Garlic drives away ants, nematodes and earthworms
Bury chopped garlic directly in the flower soil, and it can not only serve as fertilizer but also drive away ants, nematodes and earthworms in the flower pot, killing two birds with one stone. However, do not put in too much, generally 2-3 garlic cloves are enough
Chives for pest control

The smell of chives can also kill pests, and the principle is similar to garlic pest control. Note that only green chives work; for yellow chives the effect is a bit weaker
1. Chive juice kills aphids and red spider mites
Decide the amount based on the size and number of your flowers. Huahua has 3 pots of roses, so 10 chives were used. Chop them up and mash them, soak them in 1000ml of clean water, cover with plastic wrap, and leave overnight
After leaving it overnight, the pungent smell of the chives comes out. Filter it and spray it on the spots where the bugs are, once every 1-2 days, and about 3 times is enough to wipe out the bugs
Onion for pest control

Onion contains volatile propyl sulfide, which even people cannot stand smelling, let alone bugs. It can not only repel pests but also sterilize
1. Onion water for pest control
Chop 1/4 of an onion, add 500ml of clean water, soak overnight, and the filtered onion water is enough to water 2-3 pots of flowers
Onion water can be sprayed on the leaves or poured into the flower pot. It not only has no effect on the flowers but can also serve as flower fertilizer, making the flowers bloom better
Bird's eye chili for pest control
G a r d e n i n g E n c y c l o p e d i a
Using chili for pest control is actually quite common; it can even kill pests on leafy greens, let alone pests on flowers. Huahua recommends using bird's eye chili here, as its spicy kick is stronger and its killing power is greater
1. Soak chili in water
Smash the bird's eye chili with the flat side of a knife (chopping it easily makes your own hands burn), put it into a plastic bottle, add water, with a chili-to-water ratio of 1:500, screw on the lid and soak overnight, and it is ready to use. If you have many flowers at home, you can store more, so whenever there are bugs, you can spray anytime
2. Boil chili water
If you do not have bird's eye chili at home, you can boil water with dried chili shells. Boil 5-10 chili shells with 600-1000ml of clean water, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat for a while. After turning off the heat and letting it cool, it can be sprayed on flowers to kill pests
Pig skin and chicken bones as bait
G a r d e n i n g E n c y c l o p e d i a
This method mainly deals with ants. Once summer comes, ants easily become a plague. Once one appears in the home, there will be a whole nest of ants, so you must bait and kill them early!
Pig skin and chicken bones lure and kill ants
Prepare a small piece of pig skin (preferably cooked) or a chicken bone, and place it 20 cm away from the flower pot. In about half a day, the ants will gather at the meat, and at that point prepare insecticide and wipe them out in one go
Ants are sensitive to the smell of meat skin and bones. Once they find the target, they will frantically come to carry away the "food." At this point, all you need to do is wait patiently and you can eliminate all the ants
Fellow flower growers, do not ask whether killing ants is too cruel, okay? Ants reproduce quickly, breed once a year, and every year. If you do not get rid of them, even the house will be hollowed out!
These little pest-control methods
are natural and eco-friendly
