During the care of roses, all kinds of small problems come up. Just recently a gardening friend asked about lots of small white bugs crawling on the flowers, so how should this situation be handled?

Generally, small white bugs, like whiteflies, are white, some red spider mites are also white, scale insects are white too, and there are others as well. I do not know which kind this gardening friend has?

So for treating red spider mites, it is generally recommended to first adjust the environment, and secondly to use chemicals to control the infestation. In a humid, well-ventilated environment, red spider mites basically will not occur, or will not break out, while indoors with dry air and poor ventilation, they occur very easily. This is also why roses grown in greenhouses and indoors easily have red spider mite outbreaks. Besides improving the environment, for chemicals it is generally recommended to use a combination, for example using JINMANZHI, amitraz, DAHONGXI and an organosilicone adjuvant together, spraying once a day, once every other day, for three days in a row, which can basically bring the infestation under control. There are many types of red spider mite chemicals, so be careful to rotate them and not use just one.

There is also a folk remedy for treating red spider mites, and that is spraying water. Red spider mites fear moisture, so spray the leaves with plenty of water (spray the underside too), and this can control red spider mite infestations fairly well. But it is best to spray water in the morning, so the water dries off quickly after spraying. If you spray in the evening, the moisture remains for a long time and easily breeds pests and diseases.
