A 4.5 sq m small balcony is enough to DIY your own little garden

My home has no terrace and no garden, just one balcony

Just one small 4.5 sq m balcony. Besides letting me grow some hardy plants and flowers, this small balcony also carries the important task of drying clothes.

The balcony has windows on three sides, and in spring and autumn the balcony is cool and pleasant

To give it one more use as a place to cool off, I spent two weeks designing it myself and remodeling my small balcony with my own hands. Let me share it with everyone who loves life!

I hope that next spring, the climbing plants will climb up the grid trellis, the seedlings will grow smoothly, and bright flowers will bloom~~~~

Next is after last month's remodeling

The small flower room

My balcony is next to the living room and is not opened up, but between the living room and the balcony there is a floor-to-ceiling sliding door. This was the design when I bought the house, and I did not change it.

So the balcony is a very, very ordinary northern residential balcony, except that it has windows on three sides, so the light and ventilation are both fairly good.

When my balcony was first decorated, two 2 m adjustable-height clothes-drying rods were installed on the ceiling. The one near the window is 35CM from the window, and because of this I chose 30CM-wide grid panels for the top of the frame, so that when the drying rack is lowered it is not affected.

Usually there are not many clothes washed at home, and hanging them on one drying rod is almost enough. If it really happens that both drying rods need to be fully hung, I only need to raise the drying rod near the flower frame to just below the top of the flower frame and stop it there, and it will not affect use.

I will try a bit harder and post a few PP. Actually there is nothing new, just different angles.

Art is mainly about plants beautifying the home. Although I have built the frame, I am really a rookie at growing flowers, and I am afraid of losing face.

I always get used to sitting on the balcony chair and spacing out for a while after tending the plants and flowers!
