For flowers, fertile soil greatly promotes their growth. It can be said that a good soil mix not only accelerates plant growth but also helps boost immunity and increase resistance. If you didn't ensure the soil's fertility at the beginning, how can you improve it later? Let's take a look below!

1. Homemade compost

Generally, a relatively simple way to improve soil fertility is to make your own nutrient soil. Once made, mixing it with potting soil can help improve soil structure. There are many raw materials for making nutrient soil, such as fruit peels, vegetable leaves, eggshells, okara and so on, all of which are nutrient-rich materials for homemade nutrient soil. This soil can provide a good growing environment for flowers.

The usual method is to mix them with soil layer by layer, then add a small amount of clean water, cover with plastic wrap, and place in a spot with plenty of light. Generally, when the soil color turns dark or black, it means the homemade nutrient soil is ready, and we can mix it with ordinary soil to grow flowers.

2. Manure fermentation

This method is more suitable for friends whose hometown is in the countryside. Generally speaking, animal manure is very effective at improving soil fertility. The prerequisite for using this method is that it must be decomposed first. Undecomposed manure cannot be directly put into the soil to grow flowers, otherwise it will easily burn the roots.

3. Hay

Place hay deep in the soil. After being put into the soil and decomposed, it can increase the organic matter content in the soil and help improve the soil. It can also help increase the soil's drainage and water retention, and better promote plant growth.
