A grand succulent gathering, meeting in Bianliang! The long-awaited succulent event, from preparation to setting up the venue, kept the organizing team's staff busy for half a month, each fulfilling their duties and contributing their abilities. This First Succulent Plant Exhibition of Kaifeng, jointly organized by our Kaifeng Succulent Plant Group and Dongjing Flower Market, finally grandly opened during this year's May Day holiday!
The opening was set for ten o'clock, and the volunteers and exhibition staff arrived at the venue at nine to begin preparations. But when the staff and volunteers arrived at the venue, they found that many friends from the photography association were already waiting outside the exhibition hall early! They had all come drawn by its reputation, planning to hold a photography contest themed around our succulent plant exhibition. Look at how serious they are!
To help the photographers capture more beautiful succulents, our staff specially brought spray bottles to mist the succulents with water.
To capture the most beautiful photos of the succulents, the photography enthusiasts struck all kinds of poses and gave it their all! What dedicated photographers!
There were also many friends who love succulents who came to the exhibition hall early as well, and inside the hall there was a constant stream of admiring praise. Everyone was deeply attracted by the hall full of beautiful succulents. So much so that when it was nearly time for the opening and the staff announced that everyone was invited to the entrance of the flower market to attend the opening ceremony, everyone was still reluctant to leave and wanted to look a while longer.
Gongs and drums resounding, two lions dancing. The scene was extraordinarily lively! Thrilling! Succulent fans who had come drawn by its reputation and passing pedestrians all stopped in their tracks, waiting for the entrance ceremony to begin. Everyone was eagerly looking forward, wanting to catch a glimpse of the splendor of the succulent plant exhibition.
The guests gave speeches one after another, congratulating the opening of Kaifeng's First Succulent Plant Exhibition. The founder of our succulent group, Li Ming (we all affectionately call him Brother Ming), gave an even more impassioned speech. Every word came from the heart, voicing what all of us succulent fans feel.
Our four group leaders and the honored guests who came from afar posed for a friendly group photo at the opening ceremony.
The four group leaders give a thumbs-up to our succulent exhibition!
After the opening ceremony ended, the exhibition officially began, and a reporter from Kaifeng TV Station came to interview upon hearing the news. It was also broadcast on Kaifeng TV Station's "Jucheng Report" program.
The highlight is here! This peacock welcoming guests display is the centerpiece of this succulent exhibition, about three meters long and over two meters tall. From design to completion, it was entirely the idea of Guo Xiaojuan, the group leader of our Groups Two and Four (we respectfully call her Sister Juan).
The peacock spreading its tail symbolizes that our succulent exhibition can fully showcase the beauty of succulents, and that our succulent group can grow ever larger. The entire display took six people a whole day to complete. A total of over a thousand succulents were used. Dozens of succulent varieties. Huayueye, Nüchu, Buding, Zile, Qiuli, Jelly Nüxin, Linalian, Huangli, Hongzhilian, Chocolate Square Brick, Black Prince, Red Gemstone, and also Moon Fairy, Thousand Buddha Hands, Allen, Blue Apple, Rushi Lian, Tiya, Opalina, Jilongyue, Purple Pearl. Although these are all common varieties, when they gather on this peacock's tail, the beauty they display is no longer ordinary.
The peacock spreads its tail to welcome the guests,
Stunning succulents warm the heart.
Every drop of effort celebrates the harvest,
Also dedicating all to showcase talent.
Smiling to welcome all who gather from every direction,
Creative masterpieces stand on the display stage.
Today fortune arrives in full splendor,
Tomorrow joining hands brings joy as well.
Thanks to Teacher Liu Guofeng for inscribing a dedication for our succulent plant exhibition.
This peacock spreading its tail image is an entry by a teacher from the photography association, and it showcases the beauty of our big peacock to the fullest. The cutout effect adds much color to this peacock. It instantly has a classy, high-end feel, giving a strong visual impact!
I believe friends who follow me will find this large pot somewhat familiar. That's right! Last time at the small succulent exhibition, the display arranged in this pot won first prize. This time it appears again, but with a different arrangement. Doesn't this arrangement give a different feeling? It's like a picturesque mountain stream, with two donkey carts loaded with succulents on their way to the market.
This cute little donkey is about to deliver this cart of beautiful succulents to its owner.
This pot of Maruba Hime Shigure hanging cliff waterfall old stump has a gracefully curving trunk shape, like the coiled bun of a palace consort, with hair ornaments still worn in the hair, understated luxury. Under the photographer's lens, it appears so exquisitely beautiful. Paired with the Zen character added during post-production, the artistic conception becomes even more profound.
The same pot of succulents, the same background, different creativity, different effects, different visual enjoyment!
This photo was taken by a photographer through the gap between the arm and head of a photographer in front, and then post-production created this striking color contrast. This creativity is truly amazing!
The exhibitor of this pot of Pink Claw really put a lot of thought into using it for the exhibition. This pot, this succulent, this flower stalk, each brings out the best in the others, the combination is so perfect, attracting the eyes of countless viewers and photographers. Everyone rushed to photograph it, wanting to capture her beautiful and alluring image. This photo is an entry by Teacher Haiyan from the photography association, and it won the honor of first prize!
Here's another striking contrast, doesn't it look like Wukong's headpiece? The black side is when he hears Tangseng chanting the tightening spell, and the colorful side is when he sees Zixia Fairy...
These two groups of small potted landscapes placed together are quite interesting too, there should be a story in there. Actually every pot of succulents has its own story, it's just that not everyone can understand the story! Perhaps only its owner understands it best.
Does this image have the artistic conception of "Fisherman's Song at Dusk"? Fisherman's song at dusk, echoing on the shores of Pengli...
Only after a thousand calls does she come out, still holding the pipa half hiding her face.
This pot of succulent arrangement is an exhibition entry by our big group leader Brother Ming. The deer antler begonia's roots are raised so that both the main root and the fibrous roots are lifted into the air, leaving only two or three centimeters of root in the soil, with a shaped eagle stone pressed on top. This both increases the weathered beauty of the roots and allows the roots to be exposed to air and breathe. This is a cultivation method Brother Ming experimented with himself, and after a year and a half it is still very successful, greatly enhancing its ornamental value.
Succulents really are a kind of plant with tenacious vitality and unusual character. The flower of this pot of cactus ball was open before being sent to the exhibition, and when it was sent, for ease of transport, its owner specially put an anti-prick protective cover on it. When it was opened at the exhibition venue, it was found that the flower had actually closed again! At this moment, "outshining the moon and shaming the flowers" seems to be describing it.
After the exhibition began, we accidentally discovered that the flower had actually bloomed again! And it bloomed so brilliantly and dazzlingly! A feast for the eyes!
Biyu Lian, also known as Little Fish. The way it blooms is truly beautiful! It was precisely because this pot of Little Fish exhibited had once been shown in our succulent group by Brother Bamboo, which stirred up the desire for it among many succulent fans in our group, and several group buys were organized.
This photo also won first prize in this succulent photography contest! Unique creativity!
This is a very plump little bear paw, I really want to stew it and eat it. I find that I really am a true foodie!
Here is also a pot of white bear. Once a precious variety. Now it has become much cheaper!
This group of "Bamboo Reports Peace" shaped potted succulent arrangements has a story. The junior apprentice in the group is clever and skilled, good at making wooden flower pots. Second Brother gave him the nickname Little Luban! Two days before the exhibition opened, several of us volunteers brought up the topic of special succulent flower pots, and the junior apprentice went home that night and made several wooden flower pots overnight, and the next day found owners for all these succulent flower pots according to each person's preferences. This "Bamboo Reports Peace" arrangement was given by the junior apprentice to the great master Brother Bamboo. There were originally no characters on the pot, and Brother Bamboo went home and inscribed these four characters himself, then transplanted four small seedlings into it, and just like that this arrangement was completed! It also attracted quite a few eyes at the exhibition! One of the succulent arrangements with very distinctive features.
I find that every succulent arrangement Brother Ming exhibits is very unique and distinctive.
Does it feel like a pearl in the palm?
Puppet figure, this name is really fitting!
This is a set of finger pot combinations, every pot is so delicate and exquisite.
This Purple Spirit Jade is a rare variety, Brother Ming has grown it for many years! During the exhibition many people asked whether it was for sale. The answer was always, a private collection, for viewing only.
I like the little fairy sitting on the pot, so cute.
Ping Pong Fugniang, round and plump, the flower lives up to its name!
Fairy Cup? Not sure what variety, anyway it's quite red and quite pretty! I like it.
Deer Antler Begonia Variegata. This is the first time I've seen one like this, I don't know whether it naturally grows this way or whether the exhibitor specially shaped it for the exhibition. In any case, very special!
Every pot of succulents exhibited at the succulent exhibition has its own unique beauty, and I believe there is also a beautiful story behind each one, so I won't comment on them one by one here! Leaving the beautiful succulents for everyone to enjoy. Because it is the first succulent exhibition, there are still many shortcomings, and we welcome everyone to offer valuable suggestions for our succulent exhibition. Once again, thank you all for your attention to our succulent exhibition!
Large pot of Te Yulian old stump, this color is really beautiful!
Beautiful red gemstone!
Various cristate forms, actually there are still many cristate forms in the exhibition, every pot is very beautiful, it's just that they can't all be shown one by one.
Rose, rose, most delicate and beautiful...
Black Mage? Not sure. I'm not familiar with Mage varieties. I don't dare draw a conclusion rashly. Let's just enjoy it!
This year it seems particularly popular to have Mage varieties, all kinds of Mage, in a thousand forms and appearances.
Magnificent Tang Yin! Also one of the subjects photographers rushed to photograph.
It's said that if you behead Xiaomi Xing it easily sprouts many heads. I'll try it sometime.
There are still too many beautiful succulents to upload one by one, I hope today's selection can make everyone happy.
