Huge carp caught, breaking the fishing record in one fell swoop

Recently, an angling enthusiast in Shenyang caught a huge carp weighing nearly 50 jin on the south bank of the Hun River on the west side of the Nanjing Bridge. Two years later, the Shenyang carp fishing record was broken again, making it a veritable "Carp King." At present, this "Carp King" has been released back into the Hun River.
49.8 jin! Never seen such a big carp
On September 23, a reporter from Shenyang Evening News and Shenyang Net got in touch with an enthusiast who has fished in the Hun River year-round. The person said, "These past few days, everyone has been talking about this. I have never seen such a big carp! But the fish has already been released!"
The angling enthusiast was unwilling to disclose the name of the angler who caught this "Carp King," saying only that he was a man in his fifties or sixties. This man had been fishing on the south bank of the Hun River on the west side of the Nanjing Bridge for more than a week.
On September 21, this man set up 12 sea rods on the south bank of the Hun River. At around 13:00, the sea rod alarm sounded and the fishing rod bent, so everyone knew at a glance that a big fish had definitely been hooked. This man struggled with the fish in the river for more than 40 minutes before subduing the big fish.
No one measured exactly how long this "Carp King" was, but someone weighed the fish and it came to 49.8 jin.
Seeing such a big fish caught in the Hun River, many angling enthusiasts came forward one after another to hold the carp and take photos as a souvenir. In a photo provided by a netizen, the reporter saw a strong young man holding the big carp horizontally with both hands and still seeming to strain a little.
The "Carp King" was bought at a high price and then released
Catching big fish in the Hun River is no longer a rare thing, but catching a carp of such weight is uncommon. This carp also became the heaviest carp ever caught and discovered in the Hun River waters of Shenyang since records have been available, thus claiming the new title of "Carp King."
Previously, the "Carp Kings" caught from the Hun River were all less than 20 jin. On June 25, 2014, while fishing on the south bank of the Hun River at the Hun River Bridge, angling enthusiast Master Han successfully caught a big carp 85 cm long and nearly 18 jin in weight. On July 2 of that year, angling enthusiast Master Wang successfully caught a carp 88 cm long and 19.2 jin in weight on the south bank of the Hun River, claiming the new title of "Carp King."
Seeing the new "Carp King" being dragged around, many angling enthusiasts were distressed and suggested releasing it. In the end, this "Carp King" was bought for 1,198 yuan by Mr. Guo, a Sichuan native engaged in pharmaceutical wholesale in Shenyang, who then released it back into the Hun River.
Where exactly did this "Carp King" come from? Relevant personnel from the Shenyang Aquatic Technology Promotion Station said that in recent years, with the intensification of governance of the Hun River waters, the water quality and ecosystem of the Hun River have indeed been effectively improved, and there are more fish in the river than before. However, it still cannot be determined whether this carp was wild in the Hun River or escaped when water was released from the Dahuofang Reservoir.
Shenyang's largest "Fish King" weighed 77 kg
With the appearance of the "Carp King," the "Fish Kings" of past generations in Shenyang's fishing and catching history have been brought up again.
On July 16, 2009, a fishing team in Qipanshan, Shenyang, retrieved from Xiuhu Lake a "Black Carp King" with a body length of 1.82 m and a body weight of as much as 77 kg, becoming the largest and heaviest "Fish King" known to have been caught in Shenyang. This "Black Carp King" was sold to a hotel for 3,000 yuan, while its bones, skin, and so on were preserved and made into specimens.
The runner-up was still a big black carp. In 1999, this same fishing team from Qipanshan also caught a 63 kg black carp in Xiuhu Lake, which was made into a specimen.
Ranking third was a catfish. On July 19, 2014, angler Mr. Wang caught a "Catfish King" more than 1.3 m long and weighing 46 kg in the Liao River at the Mahushan Bridge. This "Catfish King" was subsequently eaten by everyone.
Fishing is prohibited in the Hun River, but angling is not banned
The catching of a 50-jin "Carp King" from the Hun River instantly ignited everyone's enthusiasm. Many angling enthusiasts also wanted to try their luck in the Hun River and other waters. So, is angling actually allowed in the Hun River?
